F.B.I. agents executed a search warrant on Wednesday at the Washington-area home of Victoria Toensing, a lawyer who's close to Rudy Giuliani and who had dealings with several Ukrainians involved in seeking negative information on the Bidens, the New York Times reeported, citing people with knowledge of that warrant. The warrant was for her telephone, the outlet said.
The action took place as the feds were also raiding Giuliani's apartment and seizing electronics.
Toensing, the Times said, is a former Justice Department official who, besides her work with Giuliani, has represented Dmitry Firtash, a Ukrainian oligarch under indictment in the United States. The Times said Giuliani sought Firtash's help.
Federal authorities are focusing on whether Giuliani, working with President Donald Trump as his lawyer as he sought reelection, might have illegally lobbied the Trump administration in 2019 on behalf of Ukrainian officials and oliigarchs helped the Giuliani search for damaging information on Biden's business interests. This, as Biden was a leading contender for the Democratic presidential nod.
In addition to his Madison Avenue apartment, The Associated Press, citing an unnamed source, reported that investigators also executed a warrant at Giuliani’s office on Park Avenue.
