President Donald Trump is no longer expected to deliver a video keynote address to the Republican National Committee on Thursday night.
The Independent newspaper said Trump has scrapped plans for the address. The newspaper attributed its information to a source.
Word of his canceled plans came one day after protesters violently stormed the Capitol building in a show of support for Trump.
The president reportedly called in during a breakfast session of the RNC, which is holding its winter meetings in Florida. The Independent said Trump was met by cheers during his breakfast call.
Meanwhile, The Hill reported Vice President Mike Pence will also not speak at the RNC meeting. His appearance was never officially announced but was widely expected.
