McCarthy: Southern Border Top Priority for Expected GOP-led House

The top priority of a Republican-led House would be addressing the migrant crisis at the southern border, current Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy told CNN.

McCarthy, in line to become speaker if the GOP wins control of the House in Tuesday's midterms, told CNN that the U.S.-Mexico border tops the list of to-dos that also include tackling rising crime and inflation, and probing actions of the Biden administration.

"The first thing you'll see is a bill to control the border first," McCarthy told CNN. "You've got to get control over the border. You've had almost 2 million people just this year alone coming across."

Saying "there's a number of different ways" Republicans could tackle the migrant crisis, McCarthy added that party lawmakers would not present a bill to fix the broken immigration system until the border is secure — something that would help stem the flow of fentanyl.

"I think 'Stay in Mexico' you have to have right off the bat," said McCarthy, referring to the Trump administration's policy that forced migrants to remain in Mexico while awaiting their immigration proceedings in the U.S.

The minority leader spoke to CNN while campaigning during the weekend in Texas, where three Hispanic GOP women are running to represent key districts along the southern border.

Although he declined to say how many seats Republicans will pick up Tuesday, McCarthy said he was confident it will "be at least enough to win the majority."

"Anywhere over 20 is a red wave," he told CNN.

McCarthy, who exited the speaker's race in 2015 amid opposition from House Freedom Caucus, told CNN he believes he has the support of both his conference and former President Donald Trump to become speaker.

"I'll believe we'll have the votes for speaker, yes," McCarthy said. "I think Trump will be very supportive."

McCarthy said Republicans also would perform oversight and conduct investigations into administration behavior concerning the disastrous troops pullout from Afghanistan, the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic, and in dealing with parents and school board meetings.

While some GOP lawmakers have suggested potential impeachment proceedings against President Joe Biden, McCarthy insisted, "We will never use impeachment for political purposes."

However, he added, "That doesn't mean if something rises to the occasion, it would not be used at any other time."

McCarthy also will need to navigate his party through dealings with Ukraine. Some conservatives have called for cutting off funding to Ukraine, while other Republicans have vowed not to abandon President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's country in its war against Russia.

"I'm very supportive of Ukraine," McCarthy told CNN. "I think there has to be accountability going forward. … You always need, not a blank check, but make sure the resources are going to where it is needed. And make sure Congress, and the Senate, have the ability to debate it openly."

In one of the most closely-watched — and easily one of the most intriguing — contests for the U.S. House, signs are strong that the last-minute momentum in Ohio's 13th District is with Republican Madison Gesiotto Gilbert over liberal state House Democrat leader Emilia Sykes.

The 13th District is the redrawn Akron and Canton-based district that Democrat Tim Ryan relinquished to run for the U.S. Senate. Sykes, 36, whose father and mother represented her legislative district before her (father Vernon is now a state senator), was considered the initial favorite. But a GQR poll conducted shortly after the Democratic primary showed the race to be a standoff: Sykes 47% and political newcomer Gilbert 45%.

Gilbert, a lawyer and Miss Ohio USA (who represented the Buckeye State in the 2014 Miss USA pageant), was an early supporter of former President Donald Trump. The former president, in turn, endorsed her in the crowded Republican primary for the seat.

In the last few weeks, Sykes, who has the backing of national pro-choice groups such as EMILY's List, has hit hard at Gilbert for her strong pro-life stand. The Republican hopeful, 30, has never backed down and freely discusses her opposition to abortion. But she also hits back at "career politicians" who, she charges, have caused inflation and what she calls "burdensome regulations."

Last weekend, Republican National Chair Ronna McDaniel campaigned with Gilbert. Also stumping hard with her was the candidate's husband, a one-time offensive tackle for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Musk: Twitter Impersonators Will Be Suspended Permanently

Sunday, 06 November 2022 07:45 PM EST

Elon Musk said on Sunday Twitter users engaging in impersonation without clearly specifying it as a "parody" account will be permanently suspended without a warning.

In a separate tweet, Musk said Twitter previously issued a warning before suspension, but as Twitter is rolling out widespread verification, there will be no warning as well as "no exceptions."

"This will be clearly identified as a condition for signing up to Twitter Blue," Musk said, adding any name change at all will cause temporary loss of verified checkmark.

Twitter on Saturday updated its app in Apple's App Store to begin charging $8 for sought-after blue check verification marks, in Elon Musk's first major revision of the social media platform.

Tesla Inc boss Musk, who also will serve as chief executive of Twitter, last month said Twitter will be forming a content moderation council with "widely diverse viewpoints."

"No major content decisions or account reinstatements will happen before that council convenes," he added.

On the topic of banned accounts, Musk last week said they will not be allowed back onto Twitter until the social media platform has "a clear process for doing so."

Creating such a process would take at least a few more weeks, Musk had tweeted, giving more clarity about the potential return of Twitter's most famous banned user, former U.S. President Donald Trump. The new timeline implies Trump will not return in time for the midterm elections on Nov. 8.

Earlier on Sunday, the New York Times reported Twitter is delaying the rollout of verification check marks to subscribers of its new service until after Tuesday's midterm elections.

In the last few days, Wisconsin voters are being told through online ads and a video to vote for independent Joan Beglinger for governor because she’s “the true conservative choice.”

In contrast, another ad focuses on Republican nominee Tim Michels as a “RINO” (Republican in name only, one of Donald Trump’s favorite expressions for Republicans who aren’t fully conservative).

There are two major problems with this advertising: Beglinger dropped out of the race in September and has strongly endorsed Michels, whom she says shares her conservative philosophy and, she insists, “I want very much to defeat [liberal Democratic Gov]. Tony Evers on Tuesday.”

In an exclusive interview with Newsmax on Sunday, Beglinger noted that she “has no idea where these ads are coming from — although I suspect Evers and the Democrats are behind them.” The former independent candidate for governor said she withdrew from the race “to make sure Tim Michels was elected and I’m 100% for Tim.”

A just-completed Marquette University Law School poll showed that among likely voters, Michels and Evers are tied at 48% each and Beglinger at 2% — even though the former nurse and healthcare company executive has not been a candidate since she got out and endorsed Michels after Labor Day. Under Badger State law, however, Beglinger’s name must remain on the ballot.

A fear about loss of freedom and that no candidate was qualified to handle her state’s $40 billion budget prompted Beglinger to become an independent candidate for governor.

In her words, "I administered a $200 million annual budget, I knew Evers was incapable, and I had a lot of doubts about [former Lt. Gov.] Rebecca Kleefisch. She’s a former TV newscaster, and there seemed to be more of just image to her and not ability.”

Beglinger managed to qualify for the ballot through a strictly volunteer effort. But she discovered that “the media would not cover me, pollsters would not include me in their surveys and the Wisconsin Association of Broadcasters said they would not include me in televised debates with the two major-party candidates. This is all part of the corruption in politics we face.”

Beglinger was certified for the ballot in July, one month before the Republican primary. To her delight, businessman and fellow Trump Republican Michels defeated Kleefisch.

According to the Waukesa County Freeman, both the ad and website were “paid for by Wisconsin Rino Hunters and not authorized by any candidate, candidate’s agent or committee.” Wisconsin Rino Hunters, says Transparency USA, which reports on money involved in state politics, “is a Wisconsin political action committee with nearly $620,000 in expenditures, all to a group called Liberty Group, Inc. in late October.”

Liberty Group, Inc, reports the Freeman, has paid to “another group called Patriots for Wisconsin [which] paid to a group called Path to Victory LLC, which has paid $463,737 to Tony Evers campaign.”

In short, Wisconsin will have to wait until the election is over to see how direct is any tie between the Democratic governor and Wisconsin Rino Hunters, which is urging votes for a candidate who is out of the race and doesn’t want them.

Sen. Tom Cotton Passes on 2024 Presidential Bid

By Brian Pfail | Sunday, 06 November 2022 07:05 PM EST

Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., decided he will not run for president in 2024 — making him the first prominent Republican to step aside for President Donald Trump.

According to Politico, Cotton has been contacting donors, supporters, and senior Republicans, informing them of his plans. He has attributed his decision to family concerns, as he has two sons, ages 7 and 5.

Cotton has been campaigning across the country for Republican midterm candidates, using local races to introduce himself to voters. He’s taken multiple trips to Iowa and New Hampshire, which host the party’s first two presidential nominating contests. Cotton has also raised $8 million.

The 45-year-old Army veteran released several books garnering him the national spotlight. He invited top donors to a post-midterm fundraising retreat at the Salamander Resort & Spa in Middleburg, Virginia, which was viewed as his beginnings towards a national campaign.

Although Cotton has tapped out of 2024, he is open to a presidential run in the future. He was also mentioned as a potential nominee for CIA director during the Trump administration.

Other Republicans are now deciding whether to run against Trump or follow suit. The former president has expressed his desire to run in 2024, suggesting an announcement after the midterms.

Republicans remain uneasy about running against Trump, although some, like New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, claim otherwise.

In June, Cotton met with two dozen donors at the Hay-Adams Hotel in downtown Washington, D.C. There, he laid out his plans for a campaign and said Trump would not deter him and that he was ready to run.

Polls consistently show Trump as the favorite, holding a significant lead over other prospective candidates, leading Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis by 31.3 points in a RealClearPolitics average.

Gov. Sununu: Trump Should Wait After Midterms to Announce (Newsmax)

By Nick Koutsobinas | Sunday, 06 November 2022 06:35 PM EST

In an interview Sunday, New Hampshire Republican Gov. Chris Sununu suggested that former President Donald Trump should hold off on his expected mid-November announcement. He said everyone wants "to take a breath" after the midterms.

During the interview, host Margaret Brennan of "Face the Nation," asked what effect Trump's suggested presidential announcement would have on the Republican Party.

"What does it do to our party?" Sununu asked, laughing. "Nothing, nothing. It will have no effect on anything."

"I mean that quite sincerely," the New Hampshire governor continued. "Announcing you're going to run for office between an election and Christmas is a terrible idea because one thing I can say for America is we'll all be really happy one way or another that the election is over come Tuesday.

"Everyone will want to re-engage with their family, take a breath, and deal with some real serious issues."

Sununu went on to mention that politics will pick up come "early '23."

According to Axios, Trump is slated to announce his 2024 presidential campaign on Nov. 14.

Feds Paid Room Service, Laundry, for Illegals in Hotels

Feds Paid Room Service, Laundry, for Illegals in Hotels (Newsmax)

By Brian Pfail | Sunday, 06 November 2022 05:58 PM EST

The Homeland Security Department put illegal immigrant families in hotels, guaranteeing five-start treatment with laundry service, mattress choices, and security, all on the taxpayers’ dime.

America First Legal, a conservative organization of former top Trump aides, obtained the documents through an open-records request, calling the accommodations for illegal immigrants “astounding.”

Migrants were given the option of meat at every meal, 24-hour access to drinks and snacks, babysitters, television programming in both English and Spanish, and their choice of mattress for bed.

The use of hotels was a part of the Biden administration's response to the surge of illegal immigrants overwhelming the southern border and Homeland Security’s resources in early 2021.

DHS housed migrant families in hotels while trying to process them. In 2021, the Washington Examiner reported the U.S. government was spending $352.64 a night on beds, food, medical and mental health services, laundry, and reactional activities for migrants.

Rent contracts of hotels in Texas and Arizona were said to be for 199 days or six months. A total of 1,239 beds were obtained for the anticipated 80,000 migrant surge.

The initiative was part of an approximately $87 million contract ICE engaged with the San Antonion nonprofit Family Endeavors. Migrants were housed in Hilton Hotels, Best Western International, Choice Hotels and InterContinental Hotels Group.

Trump Teases '24 Call: 'Stay Tuned' for Monday Night in Ohio former president donald trump speaks at his save america rally in miami before it started to rain

By Eric Mack | Sunday, 06 November 2022 05:52 PM EST

Amid reports former President Donald Trump had to be talked out of making his 2024 presidential campaign declaration Saturday night in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, Trump teased a potential announcement Monday night in Ohio.

"I ran twice, I won twice, and I did much better the second time than I did the first, getting millions and millions more votes in 2020 that we got in 2016 – and likewise getting more votes than any sitting president in the history of our country by far," Trump told his Save America rally in Miami, Florida, on Sunday night, which aired live on Newsmax.

"And, now in order to make our country successful, safe, and glorious, I will probably have to do it again.

"But stay tuned."

Instead of his recent "very, very, very" soon teases in rallies this week, Trump suggesting something might be coming Monday night at his rally for J.D. Vance in Ohio.

"Stay tuned tomorrow night in the great state of Ohio," Trump continued, teasing his long-awaited 2024 presidential announcement with Vance on the eve of the 2022 midterm elections' final votes.

"We have to win a historic victory for Republicans on Tuesday."

Trump presidential adviser Dick Morris has told Newsmax on Saturday that Trump is repeatedly being held back in announcing officially for 2024 in order to give the GOP midterm candidates the spotlight before Tuesday.

"This is the year we are going to take back the House, we're going to take back the Senate, we're going to take back America – we're going to take it back – and in 2024, most importantly, we're going to take back that big, beautiful, magnificent White House," Trump said, keeping that segment of his speech unchanged. "We're going to take it back."

Insider Advantage Poll: Laxalt, Lombardo, Take Lead in Nevada

Insider Advantage Poll: Laxalt, Lombardo, Take Lead in Nevada (Newsmax)

By Nick Koutsobinas | Sunday, 06 November 2022 05:05 PM EST

Republicans Adam Laxalt, who is running for Senate, and Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo, who is running for governor, lead their Nevada Democrat opponents, according to an AmericanGreatness/InsiderAdvantage poll, as they approach the final stretch of the 2022 midterms.

Laxalt, Nevada's former attorney general, widened his lead against Democrat incumbent Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto, with 49.8% of likely voters supporting him, compared to Cortez Masto's 43.8%.

As for the governor race, Lombardo is pacing Democrat incumbent Steve Sisolak 48.7% to 43.5%.

The poll was conducted Friday with a margin of error of ± 4.2%.

For the Democratic Party, Nevada is a crucial battleground state for maintaining control of the Senate. On Tuesday, former President Barack Obama made an appearance in a Las Vegas high school gymnasium, the Nevada Independent reported.

Alluding to the Senate race, the former president praised Cortez-Masto for going "after Big Oil" and "high gas prices" and for taking on the "pharmaceutical companies'" high drug prices. "Your Nevada Democratic senator," Obama added, "also went after Laxalt." Laxalt worked as the Trump campaign's Nevada co-chair in 2020 in "efforts to overturn the results of the last election."

Trump Calls on Supporters to Vote DeSantis After Quip

Trump Calls on Supporters to Vote DeSantis After Quip Trump Calls on Supporters to Vote DeSantis After Quip

By Eric Mack | Sunday, 06 November 2022 04:48 PM EST

One night after labeling his "Ron DeSanctimonious," former President Donald Trump called on his Miami supporters Sunday to vote for the popular Florida GOP governor in Tuesday's midterm election.

"This is beautiful – what a place – hello, Miami," Trump told a Save America rally, which aired live on Newsmax, stumping for Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla. "And it's a great honor for Marco, I can tell you. It's great to be here in my home state of Florida. This is my homestead.

"With thousands of proud, hard-working American patriots, incredible people – just two days from now, the people of Florida are going to reelect the wonderful, the great, a friend of mine, Marco Rubio to the United States Senate, and you're going to reelect Ron DeSantis as your governor of the state.

"And you're going to elect an incredible slate of true MAGA warriors to Congress."

Trump's "DeSanctimonious" quip in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, made headlines, but he did not repeat it stumping for Republicans in Miami less than 24 hours later.

He was specific, however, to say he was stumping for Rubio in Miami, making a rare call in saying it was his rally.

"Is there any better place to be than a Marco Rubio rally?" Trump said, eschewing his usual "Trump rally" cry. "This is a Marco rally. We've got to make sure you win big against a radical left crazy person – one of the worst."

Rubio is facing Rep. Val Demings, D-Fla., as he hopes to help Republicans hold the Florida Senate seat and retake the majority in Tuesday's midterms.

"Every freedom loving American needs to understand that the time to stand up to this growing left-wing tyranny is right now," Trump said. "You have to stand up right now. If you want to save your rights and liberties, you have to start by dealing a humiliating rebuke to the radical-left maniacs that are running in this election, and you have a lot of them.

"Marco has one of them as his opponent, in my opinion. I don't want to hurt her feelings, but that's my opinion. Marco is that your opinion, too? Is that your opinion Marco? He doesn't want to be too controversial.

"Marcus says, 'Yes, it's his opinion.' You better believe it's his opinion."

Trump, who has teased he will announce a 2024 presidential campaign after the midterm elections' "red wave," called on voters to stop America from being a "communists" country.

"This Tuesday you have to crush the communists at the ballot box," Trump said. "I don't say socialists anymore. I don't say socialists. The communist and Marxist direction of the radical Democrat Party is one of the biggest reasons that hispanic Americans are joining our movement by the millions and millions and millions of millions and millions."

"Marco, this is a hell of a turnout for you, especially with football going on, and all of the things happening," Trump said. "This is a hell of a turnout."

Trump hailed Rubio, the son of Cuban immigrants, as pivotal to reversing the pro-Cuba policies of former President Barack Obama and President Joe Biden.

"And working closely with Marco Rubio, and he was an incredible help, we reversed the Obama-Biden administration's horrendous and very weak Cuba policy," Trump said. "It was so pathetic and we canceled their cruel betrayal of the Cuban people. They betrayed the Cuban people. I vowed not to lift sanctions until all political prisoners were freed, freedoms of assembly and expression where respected, all political parties were legalized, and free elections were scheduled.

"And it was all happening, and then the election got rigged, and that was the end of that, but we'll get it back very quickly. It won't take long. By contrast, the Biden administration has completely abandoned the people of Cuba, Nicaragua, and Venezuela."

Dick Morris to Newsmax: Trump, DeSantis Won't Fight for '24 GOP Nod (Newsmax)

By Sandy Fitzgerald | Sunday, 06 November 2022 03:56 PM EST

The media is trying to paint a "Republican civil war" between former President Donald Trump and Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis after Trump nicknamed him "Ron DeSanctimonious" on Saturday night.

But DeSantis is not going to challenge Trump, political strategist Dick Morris told Newsmax on Sunday.

Note: Get Dick Morris' new book "The Return" on Trump's secret plan for 2024. See It Here!

"I wouldn't take it very seriously," Morris, the author of "The Return: Trump's Big 2024 Comeback" and host of "Dick Morris Democracy" on Newsmax, said during the networks' election special coverage Sunday.

"The key thing is that the day after tomorrow, all of Trump's candidates will win," said Morris. "That will send a message to the Republican Party that Donald Trump cannot be beaten in a Republican primary."

Further, anyone thinking about running will understand that "Trump is going to win that nomination," said Morris. "If they get in his way they just can be destroying their own political career."

As for DeSantis, "I think he could walk into the nomination in 2028 but if he opposes Trump in 2024, he'll lose and he'll screw it up for the rest of his career," said Morris.

As for President Joe Biden, after Tuesday, "he'll be under siege not to run again, and they'll force him to make that announcement…the fight will be for the Democratic Party for two years, while Trump has a walk to the nomination," said Morris.

JD Vance: ‘Idea This Race Was Close’ Was ‘Bit of a Mirage’

JD Vance: 'Idea This Race Was Close' Was 'Bit of a Mirage' (Newsmax)

By Eric Mack | Sunday, 06 November 2022 02:26 PM EST

A confident GOP senatorial-nominee J.D. Vance is hailing his final-week midterm momentum as no real surprise, saying Rep. Tim Ryan, D-Ohio, never truly had a chance to earn the support of Ohio voters.

"The energy is higher as you get closer to Election Day, but I've always thought the idea this race was close was a bit of a mirage," Vance told the Washington Free Beacon on Saturday. "A lot of our base just wasn't really paying attention to politics. They were on vacation or hanging out with their kids."

Vance told the Beacon he "loves the polls," as RealClear Politics (RCP) polling average has Vance as a solid 5-point favorite going into Tuesday's final vote. RCP projects Vance will hold the seat of retiring Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, who has endorsed him.

"We've hammered Ryan on the airwaves over his record," Vance told the Free Beacon. "So now when I talk to voters they're aware he's anti-energy, anti-cop."

Trump twice won Ohio by 8 points and the seat Vance is running for has been Republican since 1999.

Ohio is famously an election bellwether state, although Trump's 2020 victory came despite President Joe Biden's controversial victory.

"I was told all my life that 'so goes Ohio, so goes the nation,'" Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., said Saturday in stumping for Vance. "I know on Tuesday, you're going to be a bellwether again.

"There is one thing I think Biden actually got right, when the man can complete a sentence: He says this election is about the soul of America, he’s right about that," Hawley continued.

"What we're gonna tell him on Tuesday is we're not the problem; he's the problem."

Russian Trolls Home in on Biden, Dems, Ukraine Aid

Russian Trolls Home in on Biden, Dems, Ukraine Aid (Newsmax)

By Eric Mack | Sunday, 06 November 2022 01:37 PM EST

Russia's online disinformation efforts have been reenergized ahead of Tuesday's midterm elections, particularly in influencing results against President Joe Biden and Democrats and damaging public support for Ukraine aid, according to researchers.

"It's clear they are trying to get them to cut off aid and money to Ukraine," Providence Consulting Group's Alex Plitsas, an Army veteran and former Pentagon information official, told The New York Times.

Russian online disinformation efforts are designed to sow discord in American democracy, experts have long warned. The FBI and Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency have also warned of the use of "dark web media channels, online journals, messaging applications, spoofed websites, emails, text messages, and fake online personas."

Researchers told the Times they fear the efforts on smaller, conservative social media networks like Gab, Parler, or Gettr. Former President Donald Trump's Truth Social was not mentioned in the Times' report.

"The audiences are much, much smaller than on your other traditional social media networks," Recorded Future senior intelligence analyst Brian Liston told the Times. "But you can engage the audiences in much more targeted influence ops because those who are on these platforms are generally U.S. conservatives who are maybe more accepting of conspiratorial claims."

Graham Brookie, senior director of the Digital Forensics Lab at the Atlantic Council, told the Times the renewed Russian disinformation efforts is "recidivist behavior."

"Since 2016, it appears that foreign states can afford to take some of the foot off the gas, because they have already created such sufficient division that there are many domestic actors to carry the water of disinformation for them," OSET Institute board member Edward P. Perez told the Times.

Sen. Rick Scott: Focused on Election, Not Push for Leader Seat

Sen. Rick Scott: Focused on Election, Not Push for Leader Seat (Newsmax)

By Sandy Fitzgerald | Sunday, 06 November 2022 01:23 PM EST

National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman Rick Scott Sunday continued to insist that Republicans will have "52-plus" seats in the Senate after Tuesday's elections, but he would not commit to whether he'll push past current Senate Minority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., to become the chamber's majority leader if that happens.

"I'm not focused on anything except getting a majority Tuesday night," the Florida Republican said on NBC's "Meet the Press."

He insisted Republicans will win Senate races in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Georgia, and Nevada and said there is a "good shot" for wins in Arizona, New Hampshire, Washington, Colorado, and "maybe" in Connecticut.

However, Scott would not commit to supporting a 2024 reelection bid from former President Donald Trump at this time, saying there will be "a lot of people" who will announce campaigns.

Scott also said he'll accept the results of all Senate elections but also make sure the voting was "free and fair."

Meanwhile, under a GOP majority, there are several priorities that must be handled, including inflation, the border, crime, and stopping the legislation that funded the hiring of 87,000 new IRS agents, said Scott.

He also insisted Sunday that no matter who holds the majority, Ukraine must continue to have U.S. support against Russia.

"I don't want to end up in a war with Russia," Scott said, pointing out that if Russia enters Poland or another NATO country, the United States will end up in at war.

Sebastian Gorka: US Should Stand With Ukraine, Reagan Would

Sebastian Gorka: US Should Stand With Ukraine, Reagan Would (Newsmax/"The Gorka Reality Check")

By Sandy Fitzgerald | Sunday, 06 November 2022 08:15 PM EST

The late President Ronald Reagan would have supported Ukraine in its fight against Russia, and modern-day America should as well, Sebastian Gorka, the deputy assistant for strategy under former President Donald Trump, argued Sunday on Newsmax.

"Conservatives today, those who say Ukraine doesn't matter, what if Reagan were the president, would they say the same thing to Ronald Reagan?" Gorka said during the monologue to his program, "The Gorka Reality Check," which airs Sundays at 7 p.m. ET. "Would they say 'oh, no, please Ronnie, don't irritate Moscow?' He would laugh in their faces."

Gorka said conservative talk show host Mark Levin posed the question during a panel discussion the two were involved in last week in California, along with Dennis Prager, Charlie Kirk, and Larry Elder, and he felt the question was a vital one.

Reagan, Gorka said, "pushed back on communism everywhere, in Latin America with the Sandinistas; in Afghanistan against the Soviets, who had more nuclear weapons back then, and across the planet."

He also noted, in 1776, the American Revolution's patriots could not have defeated England without the help of the French, so "if 1776 matters to you, so should Ukraine."

The United States must also continue to support Ukraine as a "question of honor," according to Gorka.

"In 1994, we, America, along with the U.K. and Russia, signed the Budapest Memorandum in exchange for Ukraine giving up its nuclear weapons to Russia," Gorka said. "At that time, Ukraine was the third-biggest nuclear power in the world, after the former Soviet Union and America."

In exchange, the United States and the British agreed to protect Ukraine from Moscow.

"If they had kept those nuclear weapons against our wishes they never would have been invaded," Gorka said.

The Trump White House was not interventionist, but still understood that bullies must be dealt with, and countries that are fighting for their freedom should be supported, he concluded.

"We should help them fight for themselves with ammunition, not pallets of cash like the crazy Biden administration," Gorka said.
