Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz held a rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on Monday to shore up support just three weeks before the presidential election.

While warning the crowd about what he said is at stake if former President Trump were to take back the White House, the vice presidential candidate bragged about the unorthodox trio of supporters backing the Harris-Walz ticket.

“The road to the Super Bowl, the road to control of the Senate, and the road to the White House, goes right through the NFC North, Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota. Look, you had a Lions fan, a Packers fan and a Vikings fan up here,” Walz said, referring to Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Wisconsin Gov. Tony Ivers, and himself. “The only thing more amazing is we got Bernie Sanders, Dick Cheney and Taylor Swift on the same ticket.”

Cheney, who was vice president to former President George W. Bush, was vilified by Democrats for his hawkish defense of the Iraq War. But last month, Cheney made the stunning announcement that he planned to vote for Kamala Harris as president.

Taylor Swift also announced her endorsement of Harris last month, just minutes after the presidential debate between the two candidates.

Walz used his speech in Green Bay on Monday to hash out a list of grievances against Trump and his running mate JD Vance, who he debated earlier this month.

Walz attacked Trump’s mental acuity and age, alleging that the former commander-in-chief has “been forgetting things.”

“He’s confused. He’s a nearly 80-year-old man. He’s ranting and rambling until people get bored and leave his rallies,” Walz said.

Walz appealed to men who were on the fence about who they planned to vote for.

“I’m going to make a message to the guys here. You got any women you love in your life? Your wives, your daughters, your mothers, and friends? Let’s not forget their lives are literally at stake in this election,” Walz said, invoking Trump’s appointment of three Supreme Court Justices who were instrumentally in overturning Roe v. Wade.

“He brags about it. He’s glad my daughter Hope now has fewer rights than her mother had,” Walz said. “That’s what he’s bragging about.”

Walz ended his speech by imploring the crowd to vote for Harris, likening them to the “underdogs.”

“For Christ’s sake, I’m a Vikings fan,” Walz quipped. “We’re always the underdogs.”

Vice President Harris is being accused of plagiarizing from several sources in her 2009 book on policing that was released while she was district attorney of San Francisco.

The book, “Smart on Crime: A Career Prosecutor’s Plan to Make Us Safer,” was co-authored with Joan O’C Hamilton.

The so-called “plagiarism hunter,” Austrian professor Stefan Weber, found 27 times that Harris, the 2024 Democrat nominee for president, and her co-author allegedly committed some form of plagiarism

He found that “24 fragments are plagiarism from other authors, [and] 3 fragments are self-plagiarism from a work written with a co-author.”

Manhattan Institute senior fellow and conservative activist Chris Rufo first reported on the allegation on Monday, pointing to multiple examples from Harris’ book in which entire sentences and phrases were apparently lifted from other sources without the use of quotations, though in some cases a footnote cites the source.

“Taken in total, there is certainly a breach of standards here. Harris and her co-author duplicated long passages nearly verbatim without proper citation and without quotation marks, which is the textbook definition of plagiarism,” Rufo wrote.

Fox News Digital independently verified that Harris’ book features verbatim and near-verbatim reproductions from a 2008 NBC News report, a press release from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, a Wikipedia page and a report from the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), among others.

A 2007 press release from John Jay reads:

High Point had its first face-to-face meeting with drug dealers, from the city’s West End neighborhood, on May 18th, 2004. The drug market shut down immediately and permanently, with a sustained 35% reduction in violent crime. High Point repeated the strategy in three additional markets over the next three years. There is virtually no remaining public drug dealing in the city, and serious crime has fallen 20% citywide.

The High Point strategy has since been implemented in Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and Raleigh, NC; in Providence, RI; and in Rockford, IL. The US Department of Justice is launching a national program to replicate the strategy in ten cities.

Harris’ book includes the following:

High Point had its first face-to-face meeting with drug dealers, from the city’s West End neighborhood, on May 18, 2004. The drug market shut down immediately and permanently, with a sustained 35 percent reduction in violent crime. High Point repeated the strategy in three additional markets over the next three years. There is virtually no remaining public drug dealing in the city, and serious crime has fallen 20 percent citywide.

The High Point strategy has since been implemented in Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and Raleigh, North Carolina; in Providence, Rhode Island; and in Rockford, Illinois.

The U.S. Department of Justice is launching a national program to replicate the strategy in ten additional cities.

In another instance, a report published by BJA in 2000 says:

Although West Palm Beach is less than 1 mile from Palm Beach, one of the most affluent cities in the country, 41 percent of the neighborhood’s 5,360 residents live in poverty and the unemployment rate stands at 20 percent. The physical characteristics of the community are striking: deteriorated houses and businesses, vacant lots with discarded mattresses and piles of trash, and litter strewn throughout the streets, sidewalks, yards, and parks. No new businesses have opened in the area, and few new houses have been built in recent years.

And Harris and her co-author wrote:

Although West Palm Beach is less than one mile from Palm Beach, one of the most affluent cities in the country, more than a third of the town’s residents live in poverty, and unemployment is high. The community is full of deteriorated houses and businesses, vacant lots with discarded mattresses and piles of trash, and litter strewn throughout the streets, sidewalks, yards, and parks. At the time the community considered adding a court, no new businesses had opened in the area, and few new houses had been built in recent years.

North Carolina voters courted by Trump campaign in wake of Helene

Voters in storm-ravaged parts of the Southeast could face new hurdles at the ballot box this year following the destruction wrought by Hurricanes Helene and Milton, back-to-back disasters that have sparked a flurry of new outreach from states, parties, and even campaigns themselves in a bid to expand voters’ access to the polls and ensure their votes are counted.

Though the efforts in the hurricane-hit southern states have taken very different shapes, the shared goal is to increase engagement and participation in the 2024 presidential race, in which candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump remain locked in a virtual dead heat with less than a month until Election Day.

In North Carolina, efforts have been focused on helping displaced residents access polling locations in the wake of Hurricane Helene, which barreled onto shore last month as a Category 4 storm, killing more than 220 people and causing billions of dollars in destruction.

The bulk of the storm’s destruction was concentrated in western North Carolina and in Georgia, two competitive states that could play a key role in determining the next president. Roughly 17% of North Carolina’s registered voters reside in the counties that were designated as disaster areas in the aftermath of Helene, Michael Bitzer, a professor of politics and history at Catawba College, previously told Fox News.

To that end, the North Carolina State Board of Elections voted last week to approve changes for 13 counties in the region, whose access to infrastructure, polling locations and postal services is believed to remain “severely disrupted” through Election Day. State election officials also announced coordination with FEMA and North Carolina Emergency Management to set up portable restrooms, generators and trailers to support the more than 500 polling places in the state’s western region — and an area of devastation that spans some 25 counties.

Meanwhile, the Trump campaign also hinted at new efforts to help transport voters to the ballot boxes in hurricane-hit states. Speaking to Fox News in an interview Monday, Trump campaign press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the campaign has been in contact with state and local election officials in the Southeast to survey the damage and ensure voters have access to the ballots.

The campaign leadership, she said “has sent a letter “to state and local officials on the ground in North Carolina saying, ‘You need to provide as many accessible voting locations as possible on the ground,'” Leavitt told Fox News, adding: “Our campaign is reviewing how we can possibly provide transportation for voters who need to get to the polls and ensuring they have access to the ballot box.”

In Florida, which was battered by both Hurricanes Helene and Milton, Gov. Ron DeSantis issued an executive order granting election officials in hard-hit counties additional flexibility to alter their election procedures — including polling locations and requests for mail-in ballot addresses to be changed at the last minute.

Meanwhile, Democrats suffered a blow in Georgia last week after a federal judge ruled that she will not order the state to reopen its voter registration process or extend its voter registration deadline in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, rejecting arguments from the Georgia conference of the NAACP, the Georgia Coalition of the People’s Agenda, and the New Georgia Project, which said disruptions from the storm had unfairly deprived them of their right to register.

The ruling could have a major impact in Georgia, a key battleground state that narrowly selected Biden by just 12,000 votes in 2020. (A federal judge in Florida also rejected a similar request brought in the wake of Hurricanes Helene and Milton, filed by the Florida chapter of the League of Women Voters.)

Federal judges in both states claimed that voters had ample time to register for the November election.

It is unclear what — or if — the Harris campaign is providing in terms of transport or options for voters in North Carolina or other states that were impacted by the natural disasters, or what specific actions might be taken by Trump’s campaign.

Campaign officials did not respond to Fox News’ request for comment.

Harris doubles down with ‘Indigenous Peoples’ Day’ post amid outrage

Vice President Kamala Harris doubled down on her recognition of Indigenous Peoples’ Day amid outrage on social media over her unearthed support of renaming Columbus Day.

“This Indigenous Peoples’ Day, I am thinking about the young Indigenous leaders I met in Arizona last week. I am counting on their leadership and looking forward to our partnership,” Harris posted to her campaign X account late Monday afternoon.

The post comes as videos of Harris from both 2019 and 2021 have spread like wildfire across social media platforms, spotlighting Harris’ previous comments supporting the renaming of Columbus Day to Indigenous Peoples’ Day, and admonishing European explorers for unleashing a “wave of devastation for Tribal nations” when they reached the Americas in the late 1400s.

“Count me in on support,” Harris told a voter in New Hampshire in 2019 when asked if she supports renaming Columbus Day “Indigenous People’s Day,” footage of the event shows. Harris’ remarks came roughly a month after she launched her ultimately failed 2020 run for the White House.

The Trump campaign slammed Harris over her unearthed comments in 2019, in an exclusive comment to Fox News Digital on Sunday.

TRUMP CAMP RIPS HARRIS OVER UNEARTHED COMMENTS ON RENAMING COLUMBUS DAY: ‘STEREOTYPICAL LEFTIST’

“Kamala Harris is your stereotypical leftist. Not only does she want to raise taxes and defund the police — she also wants to cancel American traditions like Columbus Day,” Trump campaign national press secretary Karoline Leavitt said.

“President Trump will make sure Christopher Columbus’ great legacy is honored and protect this holiday from radical leftists who want to erase our nation’s history like Kamala Harris.”

Back in 2021, Harris said as vice president that the U.S. “must not shy away” from its “shameful past” of European explorers who she said ushered “in a wave of devastation.”

“Since 1934, every October, the United States has recognized the voyage of the European explorers who first landed on the shores of the Americas,” Harris said during the National Congress of American Indians’ 78th Annual Convention on Oct. 12, 2021.

“But that is not the whole story. That has never been the whole story,” Harris continued in her 2021 speech.

“Those explorers ushered in a wave of devastation for Tribal nations — perpetrating violence, stealing land and spreading disease,” she continued. “We must not shy away from this shameful past, and we must shed light on it and do everything we can to address the impact of the past on Native communities today.”

Columbus Day is a federal holiday that officially celebrates and recognizes Italian explorer Christopher Columbus’ arrival in the Americas in 1492. Democratic President Franklin Delano Roosevelt signed a proclamation in 1934 making Columbus Day a national holiday following lobbying from the Italian American and Catholic communities.

Activists in recent years have worked to disassociate the day from Columbus, claiming it celebrates colonialism and genocide of indigenous people, in favor of celebrating Native Americans. Activists have also worked to remove Columbus statues from cities, including toppling such statues during the riots of 2020.

President Biden became the first president in 2021 to formally recognize Indigenous Peoples’ Day on the same holiday.

Harris has consistently celebrated Indigenous Peoples’ Day over Columbus Day, with her official vice presidential X account acknowledging the holiday each year since 2021, while searching for “Columbus Day” on her account turns up no results.

Fox News Digital has repeatedly reached out to the Harris campaign since Sunday regarding her previous comments, but did not receive a reply. ‘Did not expect that’: GOP Rep Luna speaks out after meeting with Biden on hurricane response

It’s not every day that a member of the ultra-conservative House Freedom Caucus sits down to meet with the Democratic commander in chief, but national crises have a way of creating strange bedfellows.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., told Fox News Digital she was not expecting a call late last week when her phone screen flashed with an unknown Washington, D.C.-based government number. When she answered, it was President Biden’s voice on the line.

“Well, I did not expect that. So I talked to him on the phone for about 10 minutes. First thing that he asked me was, what did I need for my constituents, and how did I fare with the storm. And then [we] moved forward into talking about the issues that we’re having with FEMA,” Luna said.

The first-term Republican, whose district was hit hard by Hurricane Milton last week, said she also met with Biden when he surveyed storm damage in Florida over the weekend.

Luna and Biden

The pair met for an “extensive” discussion on a number of disaster aid reforms, Luna said.

It’s not uncommon to see political foes work together after a natural disaster, but the congresswoman’s praise for Biden is a stark contrast from her fierce criticism of his administration – which she herself noted to Fox News Digital – including spearheading efforts to hold members of his Cabinet in inherent contempt of Congress.

“I have obviously been very critical of President Biden in the past, but I will say that him stepping in and taking control of the situation to assist for the right reasons was very honestly kind of shocking for me,” Luna said.

HURRICANE MILTON CARVES DEADLY PATH THROUGH FLORIDA, MILLIONS WITHOUT POWER

“Obviously, you know, we’re still going to be holding FEMA accountable… But as far as I am seeing, FEMA has been very helpful, and I’ve been in direct communication with them. And they’re absolutely going to assist, because President Biden has told them to do so.”

Asked about their in-person conversation, Luna said they talked about the situation in Georgia and North Carolina after Helene battered the American Southeast, as well as Florida’s recovery after both storms.

“The one thing that I really wanted to hammer home was obviously, you know, FEMA getting debris cleared and really not holding the cities accountable for not being able to move debris in time,” Luna said. “So we sorted that out.”

Biden press conference in front of hurricane damage

She also advocated for reforming the National Flood Insurance Program, which Luna said has been largely unchanged since its inception in the 1960s.

In both of their conversations, Luna said Biden agreed with her that FEMA’s $750 upfront payment to disaster survivors was inadequate.

“He said it was a ‘bunch of malarkey,’ which is 100% true, and that $750 was not enough,” Luna said.

Fox News Digital reached out to the White House for further comment.

CATEGORY 3 MILTON BEARS DOWN ON FLORIDA

Her measured response to federal relief efforts is notable, given the torrent of GOP-led criticism of the administration’s response efforts.

It’s worth noting that Biden also saw praise from the Republican governors of South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia after the storms.

On the federal level, Luna is among the bipartisan chorus of lawmakers calling for Congress to return for an early emergency session to deal with disaster relief – something Biden has also voiced.

But Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., has signaled on multiple occasions that he’s unlikely to convene the House before their scheduled return the week after Election Day.

Johnson, who has criticized the Biden administration’s response, argued that the $20 billion that Congress freed up for FEMA last month would be enough to meet immediate needs, and that lawmakers could do little until a formal damage assessment and cost estimate was provided.

Rep. Chuck Edwards, R-N.C., whose district was among the hardest hit by Helene, echoed Johnson in an interview Friday.

“I believe that what we’re seeing right now with the calls to come back into session to pass funds is more of a distraction from the administration for their inept reaction to getting folks here to help western North Carolina,” Edwards said.

Trump ally Tim Scott mulls bid for top role at Senate campaign arm

Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., is considering running for the top role at the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) for the next election cycle.

A spokesperson for Scott confirmed to Fox News Digital in a statement that the senator is looking into running for the position.

“The Senator is grateful for the encouragement he has received from colleagues to run for chair of the NRSC,” said Scott spokesperson Nathan Brand. “He is working tirelessly to send Donald Trump back to the White House and take the U.S. Senate, then looks forward to growing the Republican majority in 2026.”

Sens. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., John Cornyn, R-Texas, and Susan Collins, R-Maine, are up for re-election in 2026.

With North Carolina’s recent polling and electoral moves toward Democrats, Tillis’ seat could become more expensive to defend for Republicans.

As for Cornyn, he could face primary challenges from other Republicans who have criticized him. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton hinted at potentially running against the senator in a social media post earlier this year.

Collins notably survived her last re-election race, pulling off a shock split-ticket victory despite running alongside Trump. Her seat will likely be seen as a top pickup opportunity for Democrats.

There are also potential opportunities for Republicans to challenge Democrats in 2026, with Sens. Jon Ossof, D-Ga., and Gary Peters, D-Mich.

Scott is currently traveling to swing states ahead of the November election and campaigning to ensure Republicans regain the Senate majority in 2025. He has traveled to both Nevada and Wisconsin and is headed soon to Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Who is Vem Miller, man arrested outside Trump Coachella rally? 4 things to know

Vem Miller, the man arrested for possessing firearms outside former President Donald Trump’s rally in Coachella, California, this weekend, claims he is a Trump supporter and has an extensive media and political history.

While some observers speculated he was a threat to the rally or even Trump himself, Miller says he routinely carries his firearms in the back of his truck and never intended to hurt the former president.

Here are four key pieces of information about Vem Miller.

1. Miller claims to have an extensive media history.

Miller released a video statement more than an hour long on Rumble overnight Monday. In it, he lays out his political and professional history and says he never intended to harm Trump.

Vem Miller, the man arrested at Trump's rally in Coachella, says he did not intend to hurt the former president.

Miller told Fox News in a Sunday interview that he has been a 30-year member of the media and started work after graduating from high school. He said he worked on music videos and TV shows with major artists, and launched America Happens Network to combat “censorship” in the media.

He added in his video statement that he worked as a professional music video director from 2001 to 2008 and worked with artists like DMX, John Maher, and even Jerry Seinfeld for the “Bee Movie” music video.

Miller says his career then moved toward television, and he received contracts to work with the History Channel, Discovery Channel, Netflix and others.

“Again, I have contracts and paperwork to verify everything I’ve said is accurate and true,” he said.

Miller did not immediately provide evidence of those contracts when contacted by Fox News Digital on Monday.

Vem Miller was arrested at a Trump rally in Coachella, California, on Oct. 12, 2024.

2. Miller ran for office in Nevada as a Republican.

State records in Nevada show Miller ran for office unsuccessfully in 2022. He is a registered Republican and was running in the party primary for a seat in Nevada’s General Assembly, landing in third place with 1,337 votes.

He claimed in his video statement that he had received an “entry pass” for Trump’s California rally from the Nevada Republican Party. The Nevada GOP did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.

“I can prove that I had a special entry pass sent directly to me by officials within the Republican Party of Nevada,” Miller said in his video statement. “I was an actual invitee to that event.”

Miller says he was apprehended when he declared his firearms to security at a checkpoint to get into the Coachella rally. Police arrested him, but he was later released on a $5,000 bail.

3. He says he has met Don Jr. and Eric Trump.

Miller claimed in his video statement that he has attended numerous rallies for Trump and met some of the former president’s family members.

“I would say in the last four years, I’ve been to a countless number of Trump rallies and Trump events,” Miller said. “I have been, and this is again verifiable, pretty much this far away from the former president, to the point that I could touch him,” he said, indicating a short distance with his hands. “I’ve talked to Don Jr., I’ve talked to Eric Trump. I know a lot of people within the Trump family and extended family.”

Miller went on to describe himself as a “Libertarian more than anything else.”

4. He claims he received death threats due to media work.

Miller says he began receiving death threats from anonymous individuals in 2022, leading him to purchase his firearms.

He repeatedly expressed concern about his safety in his video statement, and he offered details about the threats against him.

“Due to the content I produce, around 2022 I started getting multiple death threats,” Miller said. “Until this point, I had never owned a firearm. And these death threats were either emailed to me with what I would call heinous pictures depicting violence – Scrabble pieces were mailed to me one by one spelling the word, ‘dead,’ and so I became concerned.”

He says the concern led him to purchase a Glock handgun and a shotgun. He added that he has never fired either weapon and has never been to a shooting range with them.

Trump opens up largest betting lead since days after Biden dropped out

Former President Trump took a double-digit lead in the betting odds over Vice President Kamala Harris for the first time since July, signaling potential momentum for the former president as Election Day draws near.

Trump opened up a 10-point lead in the Real Clear Politics betting average on Sunday, his largest lead over Harris and the largest lead any candidate has enjoyed since the former president’s 10-point lead on July 31.

The lead comes as some in Democratic circles have attempted to quell panic within the ranks after recent polling that has seemingly trended toward Trump, with David Plouffe, who served as a senior adviser to President Barack Obama and now serves as a senior campaign adviser for Harris, appearing on the “Pod Save America” podcast Sunday to argue that the fundamentals of the race have not changed.

“I think the freakout is because there were a bunch of polls I’d say in the last month that showed a lead for Kamala Harris that was not real, it’s not what we were seeing. We’ve seen this thing basically be tied, let’s say, since… mid-September. So this is the race we have, it’s the race we expected, I don’t think it’s going to open up for either candidate,” Plouffe said.

But the betting odds have also continued to move in Trump’s favor, perhaps indicating solid momentum for the former president outside typical public polling.

Trump at one point enjoyed an over 48-point lead in the Real Clear Politics betting average over President Biden on July 15, but that lead quickly began to evaporate after the president’s announcement that he would drop out of the race and Harris’ quick elevation to the top of the Democratic ticket.

Harris eventually took the betting lead in the race on Aug. 8 and saw that lead peak at 8.8-points a week later. The two candidates have since traded the lead multiple times and no candidate has enjoyed a lead as large as Trump’s Sunday advantage.

Harris’ last lead in the Real Clear Politics average was on Oct. 5, with Trump steadily gaining more momentum in the race on his way to the 10-point Sunday lead.

Trump himself has touted his betting advantage in recent days, telling Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo on Sunday that the betting odds were “through the roof” in his favor.

Ohio GOP Senate challenger flips script on Dem incumbent’s first campaign promises as poll numbers tighten

COLUMBUS – Ohio Senate candidate Bernie Moreno took aim at his Democratic opponent during a recent campaign event by resurfacing a couple of Sen. Sherrod Brown’s campaign promises from over 30 years ago and highlighting how he has broken both promises.

“It’s time for a change,” Moreno told Fox News Digital outside the Franklin County Board of Elections, where Ohio Republicans encouraged voters to cast their votes early as part of former President Donald Trump’s “Swamp the Vote” platform.

“Give Republicans a chance to govern, and we’re going to make your lives better. Look, Sherrod Brown has seen 200,000 manufacturing jobs leave this state in his 30 years in D.C.,” Moreno said. “Go back to 1992. U.S. Sherrod Brown ran on two promises. He made two promises, think about this, guys, he made two promises to the American people, to the people of Ohio, term limits and restore manufacturing.”

“200,000 manufacturing jobs lost, and he said that anybody who’s in Washington, D.C., for more than 10 years is a crook. Take him for his word,” he added.

We started advertising, that’s number one,” Moreno said, highlighting why he believes that recent polls are showing him essentially in a dead heat within the margin of error with Brown after trailing him for months.

Sherrod Brown spent the fortune over the summer saying that he’d cure cancer. The other half said, I cause cancer. Of course. Neither one is true. We started advertising. We didn’t take personal shots because we won’t do that. Our campaign is simple. Look at his voting record.”

Moreno pointed to Brown supporting President Biden’s agenda nearly 100% of the time and said he “stabbed Trump in the back” multiple times when voting for amendments.

Washington Post poll released this week conducted between Oct. 3-7 found that Brown leads Moreno 48-47, well within the margin of error of 3.5 points after Brown has led by a greater margin in most of the polls so far.

He’s somebody who’s completely different in Washington, D.C.,” Moreno said of Brown, who has been running ads promising to work with presidents of any party and touting his record on illegal immigration in a state where Trump won by eight points in 2020.

I have senators like Senator Hagerty,” Moreno said while standing next to Sen. Bill Hagerty in front of the Moreno campaign bus. “Who has been with me since the beginning of this campaign during the primary, who look and go, ‘who’s this guy on TV? He looks a lot like Sherrod Brown, but it can’t be Sherrod Brown because the guy I know in Washington, D.C., is a radical liberal. The guy on TV is something completely different.’ But that’s what we see. And I think as people see that exposure. We’re now tied in the polls. But he’s at 46%. Look, we’re going to win.

Biden warned Iran that killing Trump would be an act of war: report

President Biden reportedly instructed his National Security Council to make clear to Iran that any attempt on former President Trump’s life would be viewed as an act of war.

The stark warning comes as the Trump team has been briefed on specific attempts on Trump’s life, and they’ve made an unusual request for military aircraft in the waning days of the campaign.

The U.S. has gone to unprecedented lengths to protect the former president from retaliation from Iran for the 2020 killing of Gen. Qassem Soleimani. Some $150 million a year has gone to protecting officials like former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Gen. Kenneth McKenzie, former head of U.S. Central Command, according to Politico.

The Trump campaign recently requested military aircraft capable of shooting down missiles to tote the former president around in the weeks before the election.

IRAN MAKING BILLIONS IN OIL REVENUES DESPITE SANCTIONS

When pressed by Fox News Digital last month, the White House declined to say whether Biden believed killing Trump would be an act of war, but promised to keep the Trump team in the loop on the threat assessment from Iran.

“We consider this a national and homeland security matter of the highest priority, and we strongly condemn Iran for these brazen threats,” National Security Council spokesperson Sean Savitt said. He confirmed that Iran had long sought revenge on Trump for killing Soleimani.

“We have ensured that appropriate agencies are continuously and promptly providing the former president’s security detail with evolving threat information. Additionally, President Biden has reiterated his directive that the United States Secret Service should receive every resource, capability and protective measure required to address those evolving threats to the former president.”

Both Trump and his high-level officials who ordered the strike in 2020 have faced death threats from Iran, which also recently hacked Trump’s campaign and tried to peddle information to Democrats and the media.

Trump prodded Biden to tell Iran it would be “blown to smithereens” if a U.S. politician was harmed.

“If I were the president, I would inform the threatening country, in this case Iran, that if you do anything to harm this person, we are going to blow your largest cities and the country itself to smithereens,” he reiterated.

PUTIN MEETS WITH IRANIAN PRESIDENT TO CELEBRATE ‘CLOSE’ RELATIONSHIP

Trump survived one assassination attempt at a rally in July – and the Secret Service thwarted another one at his Florida golf course in September. Trump has surmised that the attempts may be linked to Iran, claims that have not been verified by authorities.

In addition to a military plane, the Trump campaign has asked for armored vehicles typically reserved for sitting presidents, more flight restrictions over his rallies and residences, reimbursements for decoy aircraft and more money for Secret Service and local law enforcement to protect him.

Biden told reporters on Friday he would be happy to offer Trump military aircraft in the final stages of his campaign, “as long as he doesn’t ask for F-15s.”

“Look, what I’ve told the department is to give him every single thing he needs for his – as if he were a sitting president,” he said. “Give him all that he needs. If it fits within that category, that’s fine.”

Iran has made no secret of its intent to kill Trump. In 2022, Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Khomeini, circulated an animated clip of a drone firing on Trump at his golf course. That video resurfaced online recently.

In June, undercover FBI agents met with a Pakistani man who was looking to hire hit men to assassinate a U.S. politician, according to documents unsealed in August. They arrested the man, Asif Merchant, 46, on July 12, the day before Trump’s Butler, Pennsylvania, rally.

In 2022, the Justice Department charged a member of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps with attempting to kill former national security adviser John Bolton.

Bill Clinton campaigns for Kamala Harris in Georgia, North Carolina

Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign has deployed Bill Clinton to key states 22 days from Election Day.

The former president campaigned on behalf of Harris in Albany, Georgia, on Sunday, speaking to congregants at Mount Zion Baptist Church. The Harris campaign announced on Thursday that Clinton is scheduled to headline a bus tour this week through eastern North Carolina.

Both Harris and former President Trump have visited the Tar Heel state in Hurricane Helene’s aftermath.

Clinton’s bus tour comes after Harris on Sunday rallied at Eastern Carolina University in Greenville, N.C.

“Uniting people and building, being repairers of the breach, as Isaiah says, those are the things that work,” Clinton said at Mount Zion Baptist Church on Sunday. “Blaming, dividing, demeaning — they get you a bunch of votes at election time, but they don’t work.”

“This whole election and the future of the country is turning out to be what people who were sort of on the fence about voting are going to do in the next three and a half weeks,” Clinton added, addressing the congregation. “It’s the craziest thing I’ve ever seen.”

While the Black church was not quite full, a hefty crowd welcomed Clinton with a standing ovation, according to the Associated Press. Many attendees were older, but some younger people were dispersed throughout the pews.

Albany was an early battleground in the fight for civil rights. The city garnered national attention as hundreds of protesters, including Martin Luther King Jr., were arrested and jailed in 1961 and 1962.

Clinton, who was governor of Arkansas before he became president, also spoke at the Harris campaign’s Albany office, saying he asked the campaign to send him to rural areas, where he feels most at home.

HARRIS UNVEILS AGENDA TO HELP BLACK MEN ‘GET AHEAD’ AS POLLS SHOW TRUMP GAINS

The 42nd president’s visit to the two battleground states serves as a new attempt by the Harris-Walz campaign to appeal to rural voters, who have traditionally voted Republican in recent presidential elections.

Trump’s campaign launched a three-day bus tour last week across North Carolina, with Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds, U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., and several former Trump administration officials campaigning on behalf of the Republican presidential nominee.

Democrats see Clinton as someone who can mobilize both rural voters and Black voters. But while Clinton was recognized for his popularity in southern Black communities, it remains to be seen whether he can still inspire Black voters as the population familiar with his presidency grows older, according to the AP.

Georgia is one of seven states seen as pivotal in this year’s presidential race, and turnout among Black voters could hold the key for Democrats to winning the state’s 16 electoral votes.

President Biden won Georgia in 2020 by 11,779 votes out of more than 5 million cast, according to the AP. That was the first time a Democrat carried the state since Clinton in 1992. Four years later, Clinton lost the state to Republican Bob Dole but won reelection.

In 1992, Clinton and then-Sen. Al Gore rode a campaign bus through southwest Georgia to court rural voters. Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz revived the approach earlier in the campaign by visiting Savannah and Liberty County in the southeastern part of the state, but they did not travel west.

Trends are good in the swing county GOP chair calls ‘Little Pennsylvania’: It’ll ‘be a repeat of ‘16’

The Republican chairman of a Pennsylvania county that has voted for the ultimate presidential victor in the past four cycles says it is both the enthusiasm of the electorate and the makeup of the area that proves why it is key for both candidates this year.

“In 2016, Erie voted for Trump and in 2020, Erie voted for Biden. And obviously, Pennsylvania went the same direction in ‘16 and ‘20, and the nation did too,” Erie County Republican Party Chair Tom Eddy said in a Thursday interview.

“I look at Erie as being just kind of like this small ‘Little Pennsylvania’,” he said.

“Pennsylvania is a pretty big state and if you look down in the southeastern and the southwest corners, they are pretty industrialized: Pittsburgh; Philadelphia. And then, if you go to the middle of the state: pretty agricultural. And if you look at that Erie, it’s this little stamp up in this northwest corner.”

Eddy noted Erie’s southern half is predominantly agricultural and leans heavily Republican, while the city of Erie in the north, including Pennsylvania’s only beachfront, is heavily Democratic, with purple suburbs in between.

“The city has some major industry. It’s pretty big in plastic industries and tool-and-die, but it also has a pretty large immigrant population: very ethnic, diverse, racially diverse. I mean, everything you see around the entire state is here in this little corner.”

Eddy said he tells candidates who visit his area that if their message can resonate there, it will resonate statewide largely for that reason.

“Erie is unique … in the fact it is able to pick the winners.”

Other than choosing former Secretary of State John Kerry, former Massachusetts Gov. Michael Dukakis and former Vice President Al Gore, the county has voted for the eventual president in races going back to the 1960s.

Eddy said the county went for former President Donald Trump in 2016 despite a 10,000-vote registration advantage for Democrats. Therefore, it is the independent voters who often make the difference for GOP candidates.

In that regard, Eddy said yard signs for other topline candidates, like state Sen. Dan Laughlin, R-Erie, have been flying out the door of his office, a few blocks outside the city proper.

PENNSYLVANIA LEADERS IN BOTH PARTIES TALK GROUND GAME AS GOP SEEKS TO UNDO MASSIVE GAINS

Laughlin’s seat is one of at least three that Democrats hope to flip this November, according to the Pennsylvania Independent.

Democrats are hoping for such a turn of events, which would give the party its first full operational control of state government in decades, according to state Sen. Sharif Street, D-Philadelphia, the state party chair. Lt. Gov. Austin Davis would be the tie-breaking vote in a 25-25 Senate, and winning four seats would give Democrats full control of the upper chamber.

In a recent interview, Street said Pennsylvania Democrats have seen 40,000 volunteers sign up since Vice President Kamala Harris became the party’s nominee.

“The vice president has sort of set the world on fire,” he said.

However, Eddy remained confident Erie would help return Trump to the White House and maintain at least a divided state government — with Democratic Gov. Josh Shapiro not up for re-election, and a current four-seat GOP Senate majority and a one-seat Democratic House majority.

“Every week, Dan [Laughlin] brings in yard signs, and within two days they’re gone,” he said.

The same holds true for Trump-Vance and other races, he added.

He also credited his group of independent volunteers, including a local named Pat who has reportedly knocked on 2,500 doors in the county.

Eddy added that another strategy he and other Republicans are embracing this fall is mail-in and early voting.

On his regular visits to the courthouse to obtain more registration applications and the like, Eddy said he has seen lines of people waiting to vote early, something new to him and many others in the area.

When he would hand out such forms at GOP rallies during the 2020 cycle, many attendees did not want them because the practice was criticized on the right, Eddy said, adding that now, the party and Trump embrace early voting, and people are listening to the nominee’s advice.

Along with getting people to vote early, targeting low-propensity voters has been important in Erie. These voters, who are not likely to go to the polls for one reason or another, are the prime electors to utilize an absentee or early ballot.

“You have this right that has been given to us from people generations before who did a lot of sacrificing to ensure that we have this right to control our government and not the other way around,” Eddy said.

“If we don’t take advantage of that, we’re going to wind up like a lot of other third-world countries … So we’ve got this unique right to be able to pick the people to represent us. You should go out and vote for that person. It may not always be who I like. But as long as it’s who you want. That’s the important thing.”

Fox News Digital reached out to Laughlin, the Erie County Democratic Party as well as local Democrats, including the campaign of state Rep. Ryan Bizzarro, who represents Erie.

In comments to NPR, Erie County Democratic Chairman Sam Talarico said enthusiasm on his side has been “crazy” as well.

“[W]e had 60 people on our volunteer list the day before [Biden] dropped out. And right now, we have 310 people on our volunteer list,” he told the outlet.

Talarico added that it appears to be younger voters who are more energized now that Harris is the nominee.

Trump and Harris poll in dead heat in NBC News survey as Election Day approaches

Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump are locked in an extremely tight contest for the White House, with voters virtually split evenly between the two candidates, an NBC News survey of registered voters indicates.

When the poll, conducted Oct. 4-8, asked respondents who they would choose, Trump and Harris each earned 48% in a hypothetical one-on-one matchup.

When third-party figures were included in the mix, the overall result was 47% support for Trump versus 46% for Harris.

Specifically, 42% indicated that they would definitely support the Republican presidential ticket, while another 42% said they would definitely pick the Democratic ticket. Additionally, 4% indicated that they would probably vote for the GOP ticket while 3% noted they would probably vote for the Democratic ticket. And 1% leaned toward the Democratic ticket while another 1% leaned toward the Republican ticket.

“As summer has turned to fall, any signs of momentum for Kamala Harris have stopped,” Democratic pollster Jeff Horwitt, who performed the survey with GOP pollster Bill McInturff, noted, according to NBC News. “The race is a dead heat.”

The contest is very close even as Election Day, which is on Nov. 5, 2024, draws near.

Massachusetts town issues cease and desist to resident projecting political signs on town water tower

A resident of Hanson, Massachusetts has been asked to stop projecting political signs onto the town’s municipal water tower or face fines, according to a statement released by Hanson Town Administrator Lisa Green.

Green issued the statement after she became aware the resident was projecting the image from his residence.

“On Friday, Oct. 11, the Town of Hanson became aware that a resident was projecting the image of a political sign from their property onto the Town of Hanson municipal water tower at 228 High St. This misleads the public into believing that this activity is sanctioned by or condoned by the Town,” the statement from Green read.

Green went on to say the Town “does not endorse candidates for any office from any political party.”

Town officials are combating the visibility of the “Trump 2024” campaign logo being projected onto the water tower with a floodlight; however, it was still visible as of Friday evening. And the Cease and Desist order being prepared for the violator will impose a $100 per day fine until the activity stops.

Freddy Espinal was a  member of the joint Peabody Veterans Memorial High School and Saugus High School wrestling team in Massachusetts.

“Highway Department employees have positioned a spotlight to shine on the water tower to dim the projection. Further measures are being considered at this time,” the statement said. “This individual’s actions have the potential to cost a significant amount of taxpayer dollars, including attorney fees, overtime to pay Highway Department workers to turn the spotlight on and off each day, and the potential for having to rent or purchase stronger lighting equipment. The $100 per day fine will likely not cover these expenses.”

Hanson officials wanted to be clear that they respect everyone’s rights and expression of political views as long as they do not insinuate that they are views of the town as a whole.

Harris unveils agenda to help Black men ‘get ahead’ as polls show Trump gains

Vice President Harris is rolling out a new agenda that aims to boost financial and career prospects for Black men.

The release of the Harris campaign’s “Opportunity Agenda for Black Men” on Monday comes just four days after former President Obama, in comments that went viral, admonished Black male voters for a lack of enthusiasm in support of Harris. Obama’s comments came as polls indicate former President Trump is making gains with Black men, who are traditionally some of the Democratic Party’s most reliable supporters.

The Harris campaign, with just over three weeks to go until Election Day, hopes to spotlight its agenda to help Black men achieve “the opportunity to get ahead, to thrive” by equipping them “with the tools to achieve financial freedom, lower costs to better provide for themselves and their families, and protect their rights.”

The proposals include providing 1 million loans that are fully forgivable to Black entrepreneurs and others to start a business, championing education, training and mentorship programs that help Black men get good-paying jobs in high-demand industries and lead their communities, including pathways to become teachers.

Also highlighted by the campaign is a regulatory framework to protect Black men’s investments in cryptocurrency and other digital assets, a health equity initiative focused on Black men that addresses sickle cell disease, diabetes, mental health, prostate cancer and other health challenges that disproportionately impact them, and the creation of opportunities for Black Americans in the recreational marijuana industry.

PRO-TRUMP BLACK GROUP FIRES BACK AT OBAMA

Former Louisiana Rep. Cedric Richmond, a Harris campaign national co-chair, said the new agenda aims to make sure that “Black men are equipped with the tools to thrive: to buy a home, provide for our families, start a business and build wealth.”

“Donald Trump could care less about equipping hardworking Americans with the tools needed to get ahead,” Richmond said. “While Vice President Harris is promising to equip Black men with the tools needed to pursue our dreams and aspirations, Donald Trump is promising Black in America a national nightmare.”

To help spread the message, the Harris campaign said it is teaming up this week with Black male celebrities, influencers and activists in key battleground states this week for “Black Men Huddle Up” events. The campaign spotlights that it’s also enlisting the support of influential entrepreneurs for what it calls an “Economic Freedom Talk” series with Black business owners.

The new effort comes as Democrats are increasingly concerned about wavering support among Black men, and in particular younger Black men, for Harris, who would make history if she is elected as the nation’s first female president.

Harris and Trump are locked in a neck and neck race in the seven key battleground states whose razor-thin margins decided President Biden’s 2020 election victory over Trump and will likely determine the winner of the 2024 White House race. Any erosion of support among Black voters, and in particular Black males, could prove costly to the vice president.

Obama, speaking Thursday at a Harris campaign office in Pittsburgh, recollected the surge in support among Black voters that boosted him toward history in 2008 to become the nation’s first Black president. He bluntly said he couldn’t understand why Harris wasn’t enjoying the same level of enthusiasm, noting that the hesitation was “more pronounced with the brothers.”

“You’re coming up with all kinds of reasons and excuses,” Obama said. “I’ve got a problem with that.”

Speaking directly to Black males, the former president said that “part of it makes me think that, well, you just aren’t feeling the idea of having a woman as president, and you’re coming up with other alternatives and other reasons for that.”

As expected, Black supporters of Trump quickly rebuked the former president.

“President Obama’s recent call for Black men to support Kamala Harris based solely on her skin color, rather than her policies, is deeply insulting,” the Black Men for Trump advisory board argued this weekend.

But some Democrats also called out the former president for his remarks, arguing that Obama unfairly admonished Black men without striking a similar chord with other demographic groups that have also expressed increased support for Trump.

In another pitch to Black voters, Harris on Tuesday heads to Detroit in battleground Michigan to sit for a town hall discussion with radio talk show host Charlamagne Tha God, whose “The Breakfast Club” program is popular with Black listeners.

Harris’ claim she owns a ‘Glock’ draws ire of Second Amendment supporters

Vice President Kamala Harris recently drew the ire of Second Amendment advocates after claiming she owned a “Glock” handgun, which contrasts with her previous support for bans and restrictions on these types of guns.

“I have a Glock, and I’ve had it for quite some time,” Harris said during a recent interview with CBS’ “60 Minutes,” citing her “background in law enforcement” as the reason she has it.

The remark came after Harris and her campaign repeatedly highlighted that she and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, are gun owners, noting during an interview with Oprah Winfrey that anyone breaking into her home is “getting shot.”

However, throughout Harris’ long career, including stints as San Francisco district attorney and California attorney general, she repeatedly voiced support for banning or restricting citizens from legally possessing handguns. She also argued at the federal level that banning handguns does not violate the Constitution’s Second Amendment rights.

BIDEN TOUTS REDUCTION IN CRIME, SLAMS REPUBLICAN RESPONSE TO GUN VIOLENCE IN THURSDAY PRESS CONFERENCE

Fox News Digital questioned the Harris campaign about what model Glock handgun the vice president owns but did not receive a response.

“Throughout her political career, Harris has been rabidly anti-gun and supported measures that prohibit the possession of handguns by law-abiding, peaceable Americans,” Randy Kozuch, executive director of the National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA), told Fox News Digital.

“That position is not only radical in modern American politics but goes further than most gun control activists are willing to admit.”

As San Francisco’s district attorney, Harris sponsored a 2005 ballot measure known as Proposition H that sought to ban the manufacture, sale or possession of pistols by San Franciscans unless they are a member of law enforcement, in the military or work in private security. While the ballot measure was passed by voters, it was ultimately struck down by the courts in 2008 before it could ever take effect.

Despite the challenges to Proposition H, Harris intensified her campaign to restrict handguns in 2008. Harris, alongside a handful of other district attorneys, penned an amicus brief to the Supreme Court arguing a ban on handguns does not violate the Constitution. The court was considering the matter of handgun restrictions in D.C. v. Heller, a case that is widely considered the nation’s most prominent Second Amendment case. The court ultimately ruled the Constitution does protect a person’s right to own a handgun for self-defense and other lawful purposes.

Additionally, in 2013, as California’s attorney general, Harris took steps that one Second Amendment expert in California said severely restricted the types of handguns residents could own.

In California, under the Unsafe Handgun Act passed in 2001, only certain approved pistols can be bought, sold or owned in the state. Harris, for her part, made that list even more restrictive when she acted to certify “microstamping” for all handguns in the state.

“The manufacturer has to put this little raised number on the inside of the chamber and on the firing pin so that … if police find the cartridge case at a crime scene, they can try and trace it back to a gun,” said Chuck Michel, a California attorney who litigated against Proposition H on behalf of the NRA.

He pointed out that the move “resulted in the number of models of handguns that are available for people to buy in California going from tens of thousands to just hundreds.”

Michel also noted that Harris, as California attorney general, sought to block efforts to eliminate the state’s requirement that gun owners show “good cause” to obtain a concealed carry permit.

“Kamala Harris never met a gun control law that she didn’t like,” Michel said. “She supported everything that the extreme progressive San Francisco City Council ever proposed. She tried to limit concealed carry by intervening in a court case to block a Ninth Circuit win. She obviously supported Prop H. And she supported the D.C. handgun ban with an amicus brief in the Heller case that she took the lead on. And she certified microstamping.”

However, while critics like Michel say Harris is a hypocrite for being a gun owner, Clark Neily, one of the co-counsels who successfully argued the Heller case, said he didn’t think there was anything “hypocritical or duplicitous” about Harris owning a handgun while also taking the stance that the Constitution does not protect one’s right to own one.

“For example, many thoughtful people think women should be able to have an abortion — and have had or would have an abortion themselves — but nevertheless don’t believe there’s a constitutional right to an abortion.”

Trump receives unanimous endorsement from Border Patrol union

The official union of the U.S. border patrol announced its full support of former President Trump during a rally in Prescott Valley, Arizona on Sunday.

During the rally, Trump told the crowd that he was “honored to receive…the endorsement” of the union of the entire union of the border patrol agents, the National Border Patrol Council.

“It’s a great honor,” Trump said. “They said it was unanimous. Thousands of people.”

He then invited Paul Perez, the president of the National Border Patrol Council, onto the stage.

Perez said he had a message for everyone in the crowd.

“If we allow border czar Harris to win this election, every city, every community in this great country is going to go to hell,” Perez said. “The untold millions of people unvetted, who she has allowed into this country that are committing murders, rapes, robberies, burglaries and every other crime will continue to put our country in peril.

“Only one man can fix that. That is Donald J. Trump,” he continued. “He has always stood with the men and women who protect this border, who put their lives on the line for the country.”

The union president told the crowd they have a choice to make this November.

He said the chaos can continue, and criminal cartels can continue to be allowed to control the border which will allow for drugs and fentanyl to filter into the U.S., or voters can put an end to the chaos.

“On behalf of the 16,000 men and women represented by the National Border Patrol Council, we strongly support and endorse Donald J. Trump for President of the United States,” Perez said.

Trump appeared pleased with the endorsement from what he called an “incredible group of people” he will always stand with.

After announcing the endorsement, Trump continued to rally for votes from the people of Arizona, a key swing state on the border.

He made numerous digs toward his opponent, Vice President Harris, and vowed to never allow the U.S. military to become woke.

Trump then told those in attendance to watch a video on a screen behind him.

The feed featured clips from Stanley Kubrick’s movie, “Full Metal Jacket,” which features a brash drill sergeant played by the late actor, R. Lee Ermey.

Ermey’s character was featured shouting at his new soldiers, telling them they will not laugh or cry, before the video took a turn.

“Happy pride. Happy pride month, and actually, let’s declare it a sunny day,” the video showed.

Trump also addressed the changing of the names of bases before later telling the crowd his administration will crush violent crime and support police.

TRUMP, HARRIS LOCKED IN DEAD HEAT IN 7 BATTLEGROUND STATES, POLL FINDS: ‘COULD NOT BE CLOSER’

Trump and Harris

Donald Trump and Kamala Harris split (Fox News )

According to a Wall Street Journal poll released last week, there was little separation between Trump and Harris in seven battleground states, which prompted a Democratic pollster to say that the 2024 election “really could not be closer.”

The survey of 600 registered voters in each of the states, which was conducted Sept. 28-Oct. 8 with a margin of error of +/-4 percentage points, found that in a head-to-head contest, Trump and Harris are tied in North Carolina and Wisconsin.

Harris leads Trump 48%-46% in Arizona and Georgia, and 49%-47% in Michigan, according to the poll. In Nevada, Trump has his biggest swing state lead of 49%-43%, while he leads Harris in Pennsylvania 47%-46%, the poll also found.

On the issues, voters say they trusted Trump more to handle the economy, inflation and immigration and border security.

They preferred Harris when it comes to housing affordability, abortion, health care and having someone in the Oval Office who cares about you.

US to deploy missile defense system, military personnel to Israel

President Biden’s administration will soon deploy an advanced missile defense battery to Israel along with roughly 100 U.S. troops to operate it, the Pentagon announced Sunday.

The move comes after Iran and its proxy terrorist groups launched massive waves of missiles against Israel earlier this year in April and again on Oct. 1. Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) has previously been deployed to Israel in 2019, but only for an exercise, Pentagon officials say.

“The THAAD Battery will augment Israel’s integrated air defense system. This action underscores the United States’ ironclad commitment to the defense of Israel, and to defend Americans in Israel, from any further ballistic missile attacks by Iran. It is part of the broader adjustments the U.S. military has made in recent months, to support the defense of Israel and protect Americans from attacks by Iran and Iranian-aligned militias,” the Pentagon said in a statement.

Biden Netanyahu

President Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu have had chilly relations in recent months.

Defense Department spokesman Maj. Gen. Patrick Ryder announced the move to media on Sunday. It comes as the Biden’s administration has been wary of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s handling of the conflict, both in Gaza and with the growing tensions in Lebanon.

Biden was asked why he approved the deployment on Sunday, and he replied with a brusque “To defend Israel.”

White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan reportedly told Israeli officials earlier this month that the U.S. expects “clarity and transparency” about Israel’s plans for future strikes, specifically regarding any retaliation against Iran.

“Our trust of the Israelis is very low right now and for a good reason,” one U.S. official told Axios on Oct. 8.

The report comes after weeks of the Biden-Harris administration growing more and more willing to criticize Netanyahu’s regime. They have repeatedly stated that they support Israel’s right to defend itself, however.

The Trump campaign slammed Vice President Kamala Harris for allegedly wanting to “cancel American traditions,” citing her 2019 comments supporting efforts to rename Columbus Day to Indigenous People’s Day.

“Kamala Harris is your stereotypical leftist. Not only does she want to raise taxes and defund the police – she also wants to cancel American traditions like Columbus Day,” Trump campaign national press secretary Karoline Leavitt exclusively told Fox News Digital.

“President Trump will make sure Christopher Columbus’ great legacy is honored and protect this holiday from radical leftists who want to erase our nation’s history like Kamala Harris.”

Leavitt was referring to Harris’ 2019 comments when she spoke to voters in New Hampshire about a month after launching her ultimately failed 2020 bid for the White House.

“Count me in on support,” Harris told a voter when asked if she supports renaming Columbus Day “Indigenous People’s Day,” footage of the event shows.

Harris cited recent legislation she helped author that makes lynching a federal crime as she delivered her response to the New Hampshire voter.

“People did not want to deal and accept and most importantly admit that we are the scene of a crime when it comes to what we did with slavery and Jim Crow and institutionalized racism in this country, and we have to be honest about that,” she said, the Washington Times reported in 2019. “If we are not honest, we are not going to deal with the vestiges of all of that harm, and we are not going to correct course, and we are not going to be true to our values and morals.”

“Similarly, when it comes to indigenous Americans, the indigenous people, there is a lot of work that we still have to do, and I appreciate and applaud your point and your effort, and count me in on support,” she said, marking her support of renaming the holiday.

Columbus Day is a federal holiday that officially celebrates and recognizes Italian explorer Christopher Columbus’ arrival in the Americas in 1492. The holiday will be celebrated on Monday this year.

Activists in recent years have worked to disassociate the day from Columbus, claiming it celebrates colonialism and genocide of indigenous people, in favor of celebrating Native Americans. Activists have also worked to remove Columbus statues from cities, including toppling such statues during the riots of 2020.

WILL JULY 4TH, LIKE COLUMBUS DAY, SOON SIMPLY DISAPPEAR?

President Biden was the first president to formally recognize Indigenous Peoples’ Day in 2021, but states have taken different approaches to how to celebrate the day.

In 2021, Harris’ first year as vice president, she said that the U.S. “must not shy away” from its “shameful past” of European explorers ushering “in a wave of devastation for tribal nations.”

“Since 1934, every October the United States has recognized the voyage of the European explorers who first landed on the shores of the Americas,” she said. “But that is not the whole story. That has never been the whole story.

“Those explorers ushered in a wave of devastation for tribal nations – perpetrating violence, stealing land, and spreading disease,” she said.

“We must not shy away from this shameful past, and we must shed light on it and do everything we can to address the impact of the past on native communities today.”

A review of Harris’ X account for her vice presidency shows she has exclusively celebrated Indigenous Peoples’ Day over Columbus Day each year she has been in the office.
