Former President Donald Trump Friday night warned a rally crowd in Wilmington, North Carolina, that a vote for Democrat Senate candidate Cheri Beasley over his endorsed choice, Rep. Ted Budd, will allow the House "Squad" to have "total control" over Congress.

"They will drive America right off the cliff," said Trump. "[She] supports raising taxes on hardworking North Carolina families in the middle of an absolutely collapsing economy," said Trump.

He also said that Beasley, who served as the chief justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court from 2019 to 2020 and was appointed an associate justice in 2012, will give the "radical left free rein" on their policies.

She has "vowed to be the 50th vote for abolishing the Senate filibuster, giving the radical left free rein to ban voter ID, grant mass amnesty to illegal aliens and pack the Supreme Court," said Trump. "They want to pack the court … they'll have so many chairs there, you won't be able to go into the Supreme Court anymore, and they want to do that and to pass every other dangerous left-wing fantasy that you can imagine."

Trump added that while he was in office, Russian President Vladimir Putin never uttered the "n-word," meaning "nuclear," and warned that the United States could end up in World War III, "because we're being run by stupid people."

He added that in the past two years since he left office, "it's so sad," but in contrast to Beasley, Budd is a "conservative America First, all-star in Congress."

"He will always defend your safety, your jobs and your North Carolina values," Trump said. "He loves the people of North Carolina."

He added that he asked his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, a North Carolina native, why she wouldn't run for Senate, and she told him that she wouldn't since Budd would do a "fantastic job."

Trump Friday night also pointed out the nation's struggles under the Biden administration, including with crime, the war in Ukraine, the border and more, saying that under Democrats, the country has come to the "brink of ruin."

Trump: New York AG James Should Be 'Immediately Disbarred' donald trump

By Sandy Fitzgerald | Friday, 23 September 2022 09:00 PM EDT

Former President Donald Trump Friday night called for New York Attorney General Letitia James, whom he nicknamed "Peekaboo," to lose her reelection campaign and said she "deserves to be removed from office and immediately disbarred and banished from the legal profession forever" after her lawsuit this week accusing him and his family business of fraud.

"There's never been a president that's gone through the crap that I'm going through, left and right," Trump said in his rally in Wilmington, North Carolina. "You feel like a fighter left and right, and then you get up and you knock the hell out of them."

Trump said he wishes James' GOP competitor Michael Henry a "lot of luck," as he is "representing a lot of people that want to see New York changes."

And even beyond the issue of the FBI's raid in August and the seizure of documents from his Mar-a-Lago home, James' civil lawsuit shows "the left's chilling obsession with targeting political opponents," said Trump.

"There's no better example of the left's chilling obsession with targeting political opponents and the baseless, abusive and depraved lawsuit against me, my family, my company by the racist attorney general of New York state."

James, he said, is a "raging maniac" who campaigned for office by "ranting and raving about her goal," which was to "get Donald Trump."

"She knew nothing about me," he said. "I never heard of her. In fact, I was watching it and I said, 'Boy, that woman's angry.' I don't think she likes me too much — all without having any evidence. She knew nothing about me before she had even begun her phony investigation."

But now, James boasted about her plan to "weaponize her office against me" and was "probably working with the federal government, of course, declaring, 'I look forward to going into the office of attorney general York state every single day and suing him. I'm going to sue him. And then I'm going to go home and I'm going to be so happy because I sued him,'" said Trump.

The former president, going on, called her lawsuit "gross prosecutorial misconduct," like the actions taking place with the Jan. 6 committee.

"Liz Cheney was so badly defeated, I thought that genuinely the Jan. 6 [commitee] would go away," said Trump. "I think it is going away actually because that really was the sentiment of a great group of people she got. I think it was the largest defeat in the history of politics as a congressperson. And that was a referendum on what they're doing in a fair country instead of harassing me."

He added that instead of investigating him, the Department of Justice should investigate James for her "appalling and malicious abuse of power."

"Thankfully, the latest polls show that 'Peekaboo' James is losing to her Republican challenger this fall," said Trump. "He's a real crime fighter."

But New York, under "nutjob" James, is seeing crime climb at record rates, but "the radical Democrats don't care about prosecuting violent criminals. They only care about persecuting Republicans or conservatives."

Retired Justice Breyer Won’t Criticize Ginni Thomas’ Post-Election Actions

Retired Justice Breyer Won't Criticize Ginni Thomas' Post-Election Actions (Newsmax)

By Jay Clemons | Friday, 23 September 2022 07:23 PM EDT

Retired Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer has publicly defended the name and actions of Ginni Thomas, the conservative wife of current Justice Clarence Thomas.

While speaking to CNN Friday, Breyer — who served on the nation's highest court from 1994-2022, and was nominated by Democrat President Bill Clinton — said that Ginni Thomas' political activity in the days and weeks after the 2020 presidential election didn't damage the Supreme Court's reputation in any way.

"I don't go through that in that I strongly believe that women who are wives, including wives of Supreme Court justices, have to make the decisions about how to lead their lives, careers, what kind of career, etc., for themselves," said Breyer. "I'm not going to criticize Ginni Thomas, whom I like. I'm not going to criticize Clarence, whom I like. And there we are."

Ginni Thomas came under media scrutiny earlier this year, after it was revealed she texted former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, presumably regarding then-President Donald Trump's claims of the Democrats committing election fraud in November 2020.

She texted in one message: "Help This Great President stand firm Mark!!! … You are the leader, with him, who is standing for America's constitutional governance at the precipice. The majority knows Biden and the Left is attempting the greatest Heist of our History."

Also, The Washington Post reported that Ginni Thomas had previously sent separate emails to Republican officials in Arizona and Wisconsin — battleground states for the Trump-Joe Biden battle — encouraging them to pursue a "clean slate of Electors" for the Electoral College.

Amid these revelations, a national petition bearing 1.2 million signatures was distributed to get Judge Thomas — who joined the Supreme Court in 1991 as a nominee of President George H.W. Bush — to recuse himself from any cases tangibly related to the January 6, 2021, unrest at the Capitol.

"[Clarence] Thomas' failure to recuse himself warrants immediate investigation and heightened alarm," the petition reads. "And it's only the latest in a long history of conflicts of interest in the service of a right-wing agenda and mixing his powerful role with his conservative political activism."

As Newsmax chronicled Thursday, lawyer Mark Paoletta confirmed that Ginni Thomas will interview with the House Jan. 6 select committee at some point.

"As she has said from the outset, Mrs. Thomas is eager to answer the committee's questions to clear up any misconceptions about her work relating to the 2020 election," Paoletta said in a statement. "She looks forward to that opportunity."

There are also allegations of Ginni Thomas having significant contact with conservative lawyer John Eastman — a legal scholar said to be at the center of former President Trump's attempt to challenge President Biden's victory, according to Axios.

Rep. Ted Budd, R-N.C., shortly before former President Donald Trump is to take the stage to speak out in favor of him and other GOP candidates in their races in North Carolina, told a cheering crowd that he's seeking their vote for the U.S. Senate to push back against President Joe Biden and his policies.

"I'm running because of everything Joe Biden has done and the policies that have made your life worse," the North Carolina Republican, who has represented the state's 13th Congressional District in the U.S. House since 2017, said to the gathering crowd in Wilmington, reports the Wilmington Star News.

"I will always vote to make life better for you and your families," he said, while promising that if he's elected, he'll vote in the Senate to bring food and energy prices under control, to finish the border wall, to fully fund the Border Patrol, and to return authority to parents concerning their children's education.

Budd is running against Democrat Cheri Beasley, who served as the chief justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court from 2019 to 2020 and was appointed an associate justice in 2012.

He told the crowd that if she wins, she'll be a "rubber stamp" for Biden's agenda.

Budd and Beasley are running in a tight race, with the latest CBS 17/Emerson College/The Hill Poll showing Budd ahead 45.6%-43.2%, reports CBS 17 in Raleigh.

Trump won in North Carolina in 2016 and 2020.

Other speakers scheduled to attend the rally, according to North Carolina Fox affiliate WGHP, are Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson of Greensboro; and Rep. David Rouzer, R-Wilmington, who is seeking re-election in that 7th Congressional District on Nov. 8, according to a press release from Budd’s campaign.

Bo Hines, the GOP nominee in the 13th Congressional District, another Trump-endorsed candidate, is to speak. The 13th district, which Budd currently represents, has been redrawn and now includes southern Wake County and three counties south of there, where there is currently not an incumbent, report WGHP.

Trump appeared on April 9 at an event Hines and Budd attended in Selma, North Carolina, but another fundraiser that had been scheduled in Greensboro in July was postponed.

Vice President Kamala Harris is calling on red state governors to accept the consequences of open border policies.
In a Vice interview, Harris railed against Republican governors on a number of issues. After claiming that America can’t fight for democracy without federal abortion laws, Harris redirected her ire towards the federally shared migrant burden. Specifically, the Democrat was not fond of migrants being shipped to her home, the Naval Observatory.

Unlike the rest of the country, Harris’s doors were closed to non-residents. She further lambasted governors Greg Abbott (R-Texas) and Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) for shipping illegal entrants into the country to sanctuary jurisdictions such as Chicago and Washington D.C..
Cities that once prided themselves on welcoming migrants have found it difficult to support individuals who have entered the United States with nothing. More than three quarters of the migrants shipped to New York City are living in the Big Apple’s shelter system. Illinois has deployed the National Guard while shipping migrants to hotels in the Chicago suburbs. This comes much to the chagrin of their Republican mayors.
D.C. Democrat Mayor Muriel Bowser has put $10 million towards dealing with what she has declared to be a public emergency. She is expecting federal reimbursement. However, Harris has accused states such as Texas of voiding their responsibility for the crisis even though Governor Abbott is a staunch supporter of President Trump’s styled border security.

“You know, doing it for the sake of a headline, what we’re seeing with these governors is irresponsible and it’s inhumane,” Harris said. “The height of irresponsibility, much less frankly a dereliction of duty, when you are an elected leader to play those kinds of games with human lives and human beings.”
Her policies for average Americans are quite different. Harris has struggled to understand why many disapprove of the administration’s handling of the border. Although authorities are on track to make 2.3 million border crossings this year, the border czar has blamed the crisis on the Trump Administration.
“There are, there are a variety of components to this. One is the fact that under the previous administration they decimated a system that was designed to address immigration,” she said. “And so, we have been spending in the last 18 months we’ve been in office. We have been spending an incredible amount of time, work and resources to reconstruct that system.”
As migrants continue to take buses out of Texas, Harris will be flying to Austin, Texas on October 8th to bolster the Lone Star State Democrats with the Biden administration’s track record.

Poll: Nearly 7 in 10 US Voters Feel Less Safe During Biden Presidency

Poll: Nearly 7 in 10 US Voters Feel Less Safe During Biden Presidency (Newsmax)

By Jay Clemons | Friday, 23 September 2022 06:15 PM EDT

A new Trafalgar Group survey reveals that nearly 7 in 10 American voters feel less safe today than two years ago — a timeline covering the presidencies of both Donald Trump and Joe Biden — including roughly 45% of respondents who identify as Democrats.

For the Trafalgar poll, which chronicled the answers of 1,079 respondents and features a margin-of-error rate of 2.9 percentage points, 67.9% expressed a greater concern for their personal safety in the present, compared to 2020.

The breakdown of "yes" votes includes 86.8% as Republicans, 64.1% with independents, and 44.9% among Democrats.

Among the 27.1% of respondents who feel safer today, compared to 24 months ago, the breakdown entailed 47.8% Democrats and 9.8% of Republican voters.

A large portion of the 2020 calendar year involved American cities experiencing some form of residential or commercial lockdown, specifically related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As noted by Trafalgar: The majority of men and women surveyed — covering all age groups and racial classifications — generally report feeling unsafe today.

The numbers were even more pronounced among the 18-24 demographic, with 90.9% saying they felt safer in America two years ago.

From a racial perspective, the highest concentration of those feeling less safe than two years ago includes: 70% of Asian Americans, 68.4% of whites, 64.7% of Hispanic Americans, and 58.1% of Black Americans.

According to the Major Cities Chiefs Association, an organization of police chiefs representing the largest cities in the U.S. and Canada, reported robberies have increased by more than 13% this year (6,963 thefts), and aggravated assaults have increased by nearly 3% this year (3,975 reported incidents), compared to 2021.

According to FBI aggregated crime data from 2020, crime has substantially increased, topping out at 385.5 crimes committed per 100,000 people.

That total compares to the aggregated crime figures of 2010, which totalled 404.5 crimes per 100,000 people.

Rep. Davidson to Newsmax: ‘Commitment to America’ Restores Freedoms

Rep. Davidson to Newsmax: 'Commitment to America' Restores Freedoms (Newsmax/"American Agenda")

By Jay Clemons | Friday, 23 September 2022 05:21 PM EDT

Rep. Warren Davidson, R-Ohio, and Roma Daravi, former special assistant in the Trump White House, participated in a Friday conversation with Newsmax, together promoting the tenets of the House Republicans' "Commitment to America" pledge — in advance of the upcoming midterm elections on Nov. 8

In a nutshell, the Commitment to America document promises a strong, thriving economy, an accountable government, a future that's free, a nation that's safe, and a repealing of the Democrat-driven Inflation Reduction Act — specifically the portion which adds 87,000 Internal Revenue Service agents over the 10 years.

This contract indicates "Republican are running for something, not just against Democrats," said Congressman Davidson, while appearing on "American Agenda" with hosts Bob Sellers and Katrina Szish.

All of the points are "built on freedom," the Ohio Republican added.

Davidson acknowledges the Commitment to America platform has basic language, but he also believes the pledge will hold strong appeal in every corner of the United States.

"But again, it's about deeds, not words. … With the 'deeds' of the Democrats, we've all seen the results," says Davidson, while lamenting the Dems' apparent commitment to out-of-control spending, higher taxes, unsafe cities, defunding the police, and being indifferent about the chaos at the U.S.-Mexico border.

On the flip side, when the Republicans held the House and Senate majorities during the Trump administration (2017-19), Davidson says, "We saw the results, and they were pretty amazing."

When asked how the Commitment to America pledge rates with the Republicans' "Contract With America," circa 1994, Daravi says, "The American people can clearly see a positive message from the Republicans."

Daravi then revealed that top-level Democrat leaders, such as President Joe Biden and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., "are already attacking this plan, this agenda that Republicans have set forward. They're already calling us extremists."

Daravi then added the Democrats "are going to try everything they can to paint [Commitment to America] in a negative light."

From Daravi's perspective, the Democrats don't have an effective platform to run on, outside of focusing on racial division and labeling conservative voters who favor protecting families, closing the southern border, and building up the American economy as "extremists."

"We're reinforcing our freedoms — not what the 'woke' agenda looks like," says Daravi.

The above comment prompted a host follow-up question: Is it "extreme" not to want more IRS agents within the federal government?

Daravi says America was built on lesser government and a "strong economy where people and their businesses can prosper. … We don't need 87,000 more IRS agents," or any other forms of government overreach.

"The American people are smart; they're focused on what's happening at home … not 800 different genders," says Daravi, while adding the Left's woke culture has not been well-received throughout the country.

"That's what defunding the police gets you — it does not keep your kids safe when they're going to school," she added.

A federal judge has rejected MyPillow CEO’s Mike Lindell’s request to block federal authorities from accessing his recently seized cell phone.

In a decision on Thursday, a United States district court judge ruled against Lindell’s motion for a temporary restraining order and for the Department of Justice (DOJ) to return the phone. Judge Eric Tostrud, who a Trump appointee, said that Lindell did not properly answer the legal questions that were required to make the request.

Lindell is suing the DOJ and FBI over allegations that the seizure of his phone may have been illegal. The CEO’s phone was seized by the FBI at a Hardee’s drive-thru in Minnesota. The Trump-supporting business executive has not been charged with a crime or has accused of wrongdoing by authorities. A hearing date in Lindell’s case against the federal government has yet to be set.

National Archives Will Not Share DOJ Trump Probe Information with Congress

National Archives Will Not Share DOJ Trump Probe Information with Congress (Newsmax)

By Charles Kim | Friday, 23 September 2022 04:26 PM EDT

National Records and Archive Administration Acting Archivist Debra Steidel Wall said in a letter to Congress Thursday that her agency would not share any information with them regarding the Department of Justice probe into documents seized by the FBI from former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida.

"I apologize if my response may not have been clear and thus caused confusion. My letter was not intended to deny the existence of such responsive documents or communications to Congress," Steidel Wall wrote to House Committee on Oversight and Reform ranking member Rep. James Comer, R-Ky. "Rather, its intent instead was to convey to you that, as a general matter, the Department of Justice has requested that NARA not share or otherwise disclose to others information related to this matter at this time in order to protect the integrity of DOJ's ongoing work. I also let you know that 'NARA is preserving all records related to this matter.'"

Comer and other Republicans on the committee sent a letter to NARA Aug. 30 asking for its communications with the DOJ surrounding the federal search warrant executed at the former president’s home Aug. 8 that took more than 11,000 documents, some marked "classified," "secret," or "top secret," according to Newsweek.

The committee said in its letter to NARA that it wanted "all documents and communications between any employee or agent of NARA and the FBI and Department of Justice, including the offices of the United States Attorneys, regarding former President Trump."

"On Aug. 22, 2022, 'Just the News' published a letter demonstrating robust negotiations between NARA and former President Trump's attorney, Evan Corcoran," that letter said. "Also on Aug. 22, 2022, the New York Times reported: 'the material in the boxes prompted archives officials to refer the matter to the Justice Department, which within months had convened a grand jury investigation.'"

"The article explains that NARA 'spent much of 2021 trying to get back material from Mr. Trump,' as well as noting NARA's role in preserving presidential records," wrote the Republican lawmakers. "The letter to Mr. Corcoran, along with any other documents demonstrating negotiations with former President Trump's team as reported on by the New York Times, would certainly be covered by the above requests … It is puzzling that you and your staff would blatantly deny the existence of such responsive documents or communications to Congress. It is implausible that there would be no internal communications by NARA employees regarding the subject matter of the letter to Mr. Corcoran, as your letter to us would indicate."

Steidel Wall said in her response that her agency would provide information to the committee, "to the extent that we are able to release any additional records responsive to your request in the future, we will make them available to you."

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) commented on a possible Joe Biden re-election campaign.

When speaking to reporters Thursday, Pelosi was pressed about her thoughts on Biden’s 60 Minutes interview. During the interview, the president reiterated his intentions to run again in 2024.
The House Speaker refused to answer the question and instead praised Biden for his performance in the Oval Office. Pelosi went on to say that she would not divulge her thoughts on the issue.

“President Biden is the president of the United States, he did a great service to our country, he defeated Donald trump, let’s not forget that. Everything we care about, the air we breathe, the water we drink, the education for our children, jobs for their families, pensions for our seniors, any subject you can name. I’m not going into politics about whether the president should run.”

Pelosi’s statements come amid division among Democrats over Biden’s 2024 prospects.

Avenatti Ordered to Pay $148,750 Restitution to Stormy Daniels

Avenatti Ordered to Pay $148,750 Restitution to Stormy Daniels Avenatti Ordered to Pay $148,750 Restitution to Stormy Daniels Michael Avenatti makes a statement to the press as he leaves federal court in New York on July 23, 2019. (AP)

Luc Cohen Friday, 23 September 2022 02:44 PM EDT

Michael Avenatti, the brash celebrity lawyer who rose to fame taking on Donald Trump before a slew of criminal charges destroyed his legal career, was ordered on Friday to pay $148,750 in restitution to his best-known client, porn actress Stormy Daniels.

Avenatti, 51, was convicted by a Manhattan federal jury in February of wire fraud and aggravated identity theft for embezzling $297,500 in book proceeds from Daniels, who testified that Avenatti "stole from me and lied to me."

U.S. District Judge Jesse Furman in June sentenced Avenatti to four years in prison, calling his conduct "brazen and egregious."

The sentence also required Avenatti to forfeit the $297,500, but the restitution is lower because he repaid some of the money to Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford. Avenatti is appealing the conviction and sentence.

Daniels is known for receiving $130,000 from Trump's former personal lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen before the 2016 presidential election in exchange for keeping quiet about an affair she claimed to have had with the future U.S. president, which he denied.

Avenatti successfully freed Daniels from a non-disclosure agreement with Trump, paving the way for her 2018 memoir "Full Disclosure," where she described the alleged liaison.

Lawyers for Avenatti and Daniels did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Before the trial, Avenatti had already been serving a 2-1/2 year sentence after being convicted in 2020 of trying to extort millions of dollars from Nike Inc.

Avenatti was also ordered to pay $259,800.50 in restitution to Nike, but the athletic wear company agreed that his individual victims could get paid first.

Parts of the prison sentences run concurrently, and Avenatti is expected to serve a total of five years behind bars.

He also faces a scheduled Nov. 7 sentencing in California after pleading guilty in June to five federal charges there, including four counts of wire fraud for defrauding clients.

Morning Consult Poll: 52 Percent of GOP Voters Want Trump in ’24

Morning Consult Poll: 52 Percent of GOP Voters Want Trump in '24 (Newsmax)

By Eric Mack | Friday, 23 September 2022 01:54 PM EDT

A majority of Republican voters (52%) prefer Donald Trump for president in 2024, according to the latest Morning Consult/Politico poll.

While that number appears to be a modest majority after 57% said the same right after the FBI raided Trump's private residence at Mar-a-Lago, it makes the former president a favorite over the prospective 2024 GOP primary field, Politico reported. Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis is at just 19% as the runner-up in the poll.

"It is so obvious this is a political stunt designed to stop the president from running in 2024," Peter Navarro, former Trump White House trade adviser, said of the raid. "They might have been able to get away with it if they hadn't killed the economy.

"But that is the dealbreaker, juxtaposed against their history of going after a man who did nothing but save jobs."

Notably, DeSantis has gained just 1 point in the poll amid recent attacks on Trump.

"I don’t think there's any stunt that DeSantis can attempt that will dislodge Trump as the clear front-runner in this race at this point," a Trump adviser told Politico. "With Trump at the center of the Democrat media hate-machine, it's going to be nearly impossible to dislodge him from Republican voters."

Trump has raised funds off the attacks, but President Joe Biden and his fledgling administration remain the best advocate for the former president.

"In Washington we are obsessed with talking about issues that real voters don't worry about,” Republican strategist Corry Bliss told Politico. "In the real world, people care about how much their groceries cost, how much crime is in their community, and they blame one thing and one thing only, and that's Joe Biden."

The top issues for midterm voters:

  • Economic issues: taxes, wages, jobs, unemployment, and spending – 42%
  • Border – 12%
  • Abortion – 12%

Of those key issues, only abortion animates the leftist voters.

"Dobbs [Supreme Court ruling] was a super-animating thing for the left, and we needed something and this was something — and it honestly only affects a certain portion of the Republican electorate, but it inflamed some of the preferences and excitement about Trump running in 2024," a GOP strategist told Politico.

"You might not love him, but he's still the figurehead of the party, so when he's under attack — and we saw this for the last six years — any time he's under attack, Republican voter-support hardens."

Morning Consult polled 2,005 registered midterm voters Sept. 16-18 for Politico. The results have a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.

Dick Morris to Newsmax: GOP Should Extend Continuing Resolution

Dick Morris to Newsmax: GOP Should Extend Continuing Resolution (Newsmax/"National Report")

By Sandy Fitzgerald | Friday, 23 September 2022 01:30 PM EDT

House Republicans rolled out their "Commitment to America" plan is an attempt to mirror other similar efforts, including former House Speaker Newt Gingrich's "Contract for America" that led the party to take back control of the chamber in 1994, political analyst Dick Morris said Friday on Newsmax.

But it leaves out one key factor: the 2023-24 budget.

"I think we're going to win both houses in November," Morris, the author of the bestselling "The Return: Trump's Big 2024 Comeback," said on Newsmax's "National Report."

However, the budget for 2023-24 has not yet been passed and will not be passed by the end of the fiscal year, which could spark a government shutdown unless a continuing resolution is passed.

The typical resolution would only be in effect until Christmas, and even if Republicans take the House, Democrats will still be in charge until January.

"The Republicans should say, Pass your continuing resolution. Keep the government open. But don't expire the continuing resolution until after the new Congress takes effect," said Morris.

That way, when the lame-duck Congress is gone, Republicans can then work on a budget that rolls back President Joe Biden's spending agenda, including legislation allowing the IRS to hire 87,000 new audit agents, get rid of new entitlements, and more, said Morris.

"That's what the Republicans should be focusing on now, not just rubber-stamping a solution to keep things open for a few more weeks, and then we'll see," said Morris. "Keep it open for a few more months. And then when the lame-duck Congress is gone, and we Republicans go in, then do the budget."

Report: DeSantis’ Risks Turning Off Voters With Migrant Flight

Report: DeSantis' Risks Turning Off Voters With Migrant Flight (Newsmax)

By Jeffrey Rodack | Friday, 23 September 2022 11:39 AM EDT

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is risking voter backlash in his state after his decision to fly dozens of mostly Venezuelan migrants to Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, The Hill is reporting.

The news outlet noted the mounting criticism of the Republican governor's decision from members of key Hispanic community in the state, as well as from Democrats.

"With this move, this stunt, obviously he made his base very happy," said Adelys Ferro, executive director of the Venezuelan American Caucus. "But there are many people more toward the middle and people who are independents that are very disgusted and that reject all of this.

"We are Venezuelan Americans and we vote, and we're going to vote in November," she added. "And we're never going to vote for somebody who does this."

A Republican strategist, who has done campaign work in Florida, told The Hill: "I think we need to be cautious about taking Hispanics for granted in the same way that Democrats took them for granted. We're talking about voters who like Republican policies, but maybe don't consider themselves Republicans. They're still open to hearing the other side."

DeSantis' decision to fly the migrants to Massachusetts also has the potential to further strengthen his support among conservatives, The Hill said. DeSantis is facing former Rep. Charlie Crist, a Democrat, in November.

"This is a story that has put him [DeSantis] at the forefront of the national conversation for the last couple of weeks," said Fernand Amandi, a Miami-based Democrat pollster. "So from his perspective, as long as he doesn't get charged, I think he sees it as a good thing."

Former White House adviser Jared Kushner recently characterized DeSantis' role in sending the approximately 50 migrants to Martha's Vineyard as "very troubling."

Kushner, who served in the Trump White House and is the son-in-law to former President Donald Trump, said DeSantis' move might have called attention to the immigration problems at the United States-Mexico border, but it still missed the mark with him.

"I personally watch what's happening, and it's very hard to see at the southern border. … We have to remember that these are human beings, they're people, so seeing them being used as political pawns one way or the other is very troubling to me," said Kushner on Tuesday, while appearing on Fox News.

Meanwhile, The Hill noted that a Texas sheriff said his office would probe whether the flight to Martha's Vineyard was legal. In addition a state lawmaker in Florida is preparing to file sit in an effort to block the governor from flying out more migrants.

At Donor Event, Biden Rebukes Opponents Who Have “Different View’

At Donor Event, Biden Rebukes Opponents With 'Different View' (Newsmax)

By Eric Mack | Friday, 23 September 2022 09:40 AM EDT

President Joe Biden, who vowed to unify the country after taking over the White House from former President Donald Trump, is continuing his verbal assault on his political opposition.

Biden's ire is expanding to anyone who wants to take the country in a direction other than his.

"When you hear Republicans talking about 'if certain things happen, there'll be riots in the street and there'll be blood on the streets,' it's not consistent with who we are as a democracy," Biden told a gathering of about 40 people at the home of billionaire activists Henry and Marsha Laufer on Thursday, Mediaite reported.

"And when you see the continuation of the notion of failing to recognize the legitimacy of an election when there's not a single thread of evidence to suggest it was anything other than legitimate, it's a dangerous trend.

"And the fact of the matter is that, you know, the MAGA Republicans have a very different view of where they want to take the country."

Biden's quotes do not acknowledge the years before the 2020 presidential election when Democrats, including many of the most prominent party leaders, made baseless claims that Trump was an "illegitimate" president. Biden also did not acknowledge a reported Democrat allegedly killed a young conservative in North Dakota because of his political beliefs.

Biden even directly said it is not only Trump to blame but anyone who does not follow Biden's political agenda.

"When I talk about MAGA Republicans, I'm not just talking about Trump, I'm talking about those folks who have a different view of how the institutions should function," Biden said at the Laufer donor event.

"They're very much up for grabs right now, the institutions — whether or not the Supreme Court — what legitimacy it has, what it should have; what the Congress can and can't do."

Biden denounced the "extremes within the other party."

"This is not your father's Republican Party," he continued. "This is a different party than when you started helping me years ago. It's a very different party."

Biden began his remarks by admitting the media "legitimately" criticizes him, before he added that they take exception to demonizing his political opponents.

"The press is here, and they sometimes, legitimately criticize me a lot, legitimately," Biden said.

New Super PAC Expected to Spend Big on Trump-Endorsed Candidates

New Super PAC Expected to Spend Big on Trump-Endorsed Candidates (Newsmax)

By Jeffrey Rodack | Friday, 23 September 2022 09:12 AM EDT

A new super PAC, sanctioned by former President Donald Trump, is expected to pour money into the campaigns of his endorsed candidates in the midterms, Politico is reporting.

The group, MAGA, Inc., will be overseen Taylor Budowich, who has been working as Trump's communication director. Chris LaCivita, a veteran Republican operative, will be the group's chief strategist. Heading up the finance team will be longtime GOP fundraiser Meredith O'Rourke, who has worked for Trump, Politico noted.

Some of those close to Trump speculated the new super PAC could become a campaign apparatus for the former president if he decides to run for president in 2024.

"President Trump is committed to saving America, and Make America Great Again, Inc., will ensure that is achieved at the ballot box in November and beyond," said Budowich.

Those who are involved in the new group would not say how much will be spent on the midterms and which candidates will get the funding

Trump's leadership PAC, Save America, is one of the best-funded groups in politics, according the Politico. The news outlet said the group's cash reserve stands at $100 million. Money from Save America can be transferred to the new super PAC., which can spend it freely.

Meanwhile, opinions on Trump remained stable through the summer, and he has continued to play a major role in the midterm election decisions, with 44% viewing him favorably and 53% unfavorably, the most recent New York Times/Siena College poll shows.

Sen. Mike Braun Expected to Run for Indiana Governor in 2024

Sen. Mike Braun Expected to Run for Indiana Governor in 2024 (Newsmax)

By Sandy Fitzgerald | Friday, 23 September 2022 07:49 AM EDT

Indiana Sen. Mike Braun is reportedly telling fellow Republicans he's looking at a race for governor in 2024 but said in an interview that he will make up his mind on the matter "probably before the end of the year."

"Where'd you hear that?" Braun said in an interview Thursday, reports Politico. "I've been talking about it, though, since I've got here. I'll make a formal announcement somewhere probably [in] late November, early December."

However, two people familiar with the matter said that Braun, whose term in the Senate expires in 2024, has been informing Republicans in the state about his plans for a gubernatorial race and that he plans to make his announcement after the midterm elections in November, Indy Politics reported Thursday. His office has declined further comment.

One of the two Indiana Republicans Politico quotes, though, said the senator has been discussing his plans with the state's congressional delegation and the other said he's been clear about his intentions.

Current Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb, a Republican, is in his second term of office, after being first elected in 2017. Under Indiana law, there are no limits as to how many terms a governor can hold, but is not eligible to serve more than 8 years in any 12-year period.

Braun won his race for the Senate in 2018 when he defeated then-Sen. Joe Donnelly, a Democrat, marking a key win for Republicans during the final years of former President Donald Trump's term.

State Republicans say the senator has been planning a race for the governor's seat for some time. One person who knows him, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that Braun, the founder and CEO of a distributing company, is a "rock-ribbed conservative," and that "serving as the next governor of Indiana fits him better than sitting in Washington."

UPDATED 4:48 PM PT –Thursday, September 22, 2022

45th President Donald J. Trump could be back on Facebook as soon as next year.
Nick Clegg, Meta’s President for Global Affairs, announced that the company will make a decision on Trump’s account by January 2023. On Thursday, Clegg also said that Meta is consulting with experts and third parties about whether or not they should allow the former president back on the platform.

The Meta executive also notably expressed his concerns that the company could become “the greatest industrial-scale censor ever in human history” if its platforms censor too much content. The decision on whether or not to allow Trump back on the platform will be made by January 7, 2023. The former president is currently undergoing a two-year suspension from Facebook.
