Sen. Rubio Says Campaign Volunteer ‘Brutally Attacked’ in Political Violence Incident

Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., says one of his campaign volunteers was “brutally attacked” by four people who told him Republicans weren’t allowed in their neighborhood.

“Last night one of our canvassers wearing my T-shirt and a Desantis hat was brutally attacked by 4 animals who told him Republicans weren’t allowed in their neighborhood in #Hialeah #Florida,” Rubio tweeted Monday. “He suffered internal bleeding, a broken jaw & will need facial reconstructive surgery.”

The incident comes after President Joe Biden decried “mega MAGA Republicans” who “think it’s alright to threaten violence” in a Sunday interview on MSNBC.

GOP Chair Ronna McDaniel in early September called out Biden for his divisiveness and attacks on voters.

“Joe Biden's wretched attacks on millions of Americans have fueled attacks on pregnancy centers, Republican offices, and an assassination attempt on a Supreme Court Justice,” she said in a statement.

“His agenda has pitted neighbors against each other, rewarded the wealthy while punishing working families, and trampled on the rights and freedoms of Americans.”

Fox News in early October reported an uptick in several instances of political violence following Biden’s warning that supporters of former President Donald Trump pose threats to the country.

Trump Touts Tshibaka, Blasts Sens. Murkowski, McConnell

Trump Touts Tshibaka, Blasts Sens. Murkowski, McConnell (Newsmax)

By Brian Pfail | Monday, 24 October 2022 01:30 PM EDT

Former President Donald Trump promoted senate candidate Kelly Tshibaka, while blasting Sen. Lisa Murkowski and Sen. Mitch McConnell on Truth Social.

The post read: "Kelly Tshibaka is a STAR for Alaska, which is trying to get rid of one of the WORST Senators in existence, Lisa Murkowsky. Kelly has my Complete and Total Endorsement and is leading in the Polls, but the Old Broken Crow, Mitch McConnell, a puppet for China along with his 'wife,' Coco Chow, is pouring millions into the State so that his political Hack, 'Impeacher' Lisa Murkowsky, can sneak out a victory under corrupt Rank Choice voting. Shady Mitch should use that money for other R's. VOTE KELLY!"

Murkowski, a Republican, is regarded as a moderate and a swing vote. The Alaska Republican Party censured her following her vote to convict Trump of incitement of insurrection in his second impeachment trial. Murkowski opposed Brett Kavanaugh's nomination to the Supreme Court and supported Ketanji Brown Jackson's.

McConnell has previously signaled to the Republicans to support Murkowski, despite Trump's pledge to campaign against her. According to FiveThirtyEight, Murkowski has voted with Biden's position 67% of the time.

In 2021, Trump endorsed Tshibaka. The Republican Party of Alaska also endorsed her.

Texas Polls: Abbott Topping O’Rourke, Trump Beating Biden

Texas Polls: Abbott Topping O'Rourke, Trump Beating Biden (Newsmax)

By Brian Pfail | Monday, 24 October 2022 11:45 AM EDT

Monday polls show Texas remaining red as GOP Gov. Greg Abbott is beating Democrat challenger Beto O'Rourke by nine points.

The Spectrum News/Siena poll found Abbott at 52% and his rival at 43%. The Hill/Emerson poll showed much the same, with Abbott at 53 and O'Rourke at 44.

O'Rourke champions himself as the "gun-control" candidate, a controversial stand in Texas. Former President Donald Trump warned that Democrats are against "oil, God, and guns" at his Save America rally Saturday night, which aired live on Newsmax.

"They're against oil, God, and guns, and they say they're going to do well in Texas," he said. "I don't think so."

Polling by Hill/Emerson has Trump leading President Joe Biden by seven points. Trump carries a 33-0 record in the GOP primaries in Texas, pressing on the reversal of his policies under the Biden administration, in particular the issue of the southern border.

"We have a bad subject, because when you look at what's happening in our country, it's a bad subject," said Trump.

The former president endorsed Abbott, a conservative Republican that staunchly defends 2nd Amendment rights and border control.

"Go out and vote up and down the slate, vote for good, great Republicans," Trump said to the crowd. "You are an incredible group of people. You're tough, you're brave, and brilliant.

"Americans deserve a Congress and president that protect the borders of our nation. It's called, a very simply policy: America First."

Cook Report: Dem NY Rep. Maloney’s Race Moved to ‘Toss Up’

Cook Report: Dem NY Rep. Maloney's Race Moved to 'Toss Up' (Newsmax)

By Fran Beyer | Monday, 24 October 2022 11:22 AM EDT

The Cook Political Report on Monday changed its rating from "lean Democrat" to "toss up" for the House seat of Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee chair Sean Patrick Maloney of New York.

The report's U.S. House editor Dave Wasserman wrote Maloney faced a potential "historic shock" in the Nov. 8 midterm election.

"When Republicans' top Super PAC announced an ad buy against Democratic Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney in April, many assumed it was a gambit to troll or distract the DCCC chair," Wasserman wrote.

"But two weeks out from Election Day, Maloney finds himself in deep danger, simultaneously fighting for his political life in his Hudson Valley seat and desperately trying to prevent Democrats from being swept out of the House majority."

Wasserman pointed to the dollar gap in spending between outside Republican and Democratic groups — about $3.5 million to $384,000 — as well as GOP momentum in New York state, where GOP gubernatorial contender Rep. Lee Zeldin, R-N.Y., has been closing the gap in his race against New York's Democrat Gov. Kathy Hochul, The Hill noted.

"A Maloney defeat would be a historic shock: a sitting House campaign committee chair hasn't lost reelection since 1992 (when NRCC Chair Guy Vander Jagt lost his primary), though DCCC Chair Cheri Bustos came close to losing in 2020 (52%-48%) and NRCC Chair Tom Reynolds came close in 2006 (52%-48%). A sitting chair hasn't lost a general election since 1980, when DCCC Chair Jim Corman lost his seat in California," Wasserman wrote.

Maloney, who represents the 18th Congressional District, decided to run in the 17th Congressional District after redistricting pushed Rep. Mondaire Jones, D-N.Y., the current rep there, into running in the 10th — where he lost his primary, The Hill reported.

Wasserman wrote that Maloney lost some of his biggest bases of support with the move, though the 17th district is more Democrat-leaning.

With the midterms closing in, Democrats are trying to limit the number of expected House losses.

"Look, I'm a gay guy with an interracial family in a Trump district; I didn't win this seat five times by not worrying about it," Maloney told the Times Union in an interview posted Sunday. "You have to do your work. You have to go out and make your case."

"So, of course, I worry about it. I run like I'm behind. That's why I've been successful."

GOP Senate Contender Levy to Newsmax: ‘I’ll Win’ on Economy

GOP Senate Contender Levy to Newsmax: 'I'll Win' on Economy leora levy in connecticut Republican candidate for U.S. Senate Leora Levy talks to delegates at the State Republican Convention, May 7, in Mashantucket, Connecticut. (Jessica Hill/AP)

By Fran Beyer | Monday, 24 October 2022 10:46 AM EDT

Connecticut GOP Senate candidate Leora Levy told Newsmax on Monday she's confident her state's "real Election Day election" will vault her to a win over incumbent Democrat Sen. Richard Blumenthal.

In an interview on Newsmax's "Wake Up America," Levy said she's been encouraged by polling that shows her running neck and neck with Blumenthal, who is seeking a third term.

Leora expressed confidence despite Blumenthal's larger campaign spending outlay.

"In Connecticut, 80-90% of our voters vote on Election Day — this is a real Election Day election," said Levy, who has gotten an endorsement from former President Donald Trump.

"The polls show that if my message gets out … I go above 50%, and he loses," she asserted. "I'll win this Senate seat. We'll get back to common-sense economic policy so life can be affordable again, we will address interference of a government of parents and their children."

One poll had shown Blumenthal with a double-digit lead but a recent survey found that margin much smaller, the nonprofit Connecticut Mirror reported. Levy said she's encouraged by that polling — and points to voters' concerns about the rising cost of oil and spiking crime.

"It feels great on the ground … people know they don't have to live this way, that life is unaffordable, crime has increased tremendously … there is a shortage of home heating oil," she said, adding about the oil cost hikes that "it was reported that Connecticut oil dealers will be rationing to its customers."

"We are going to have to go through a winter without the means to heat our homes fully. It's terrible," she said.

She also maintained that Connecticut voters are also alarmed at the rising rate of crime in the state.

"No matter what part of the state I go to people are talking about crime whether it's … car thefts … muggings in broad daylight … even armed robbery in formerly safe type communities," she said.

"This never happened before," she added, saying it was the "direct cause" of the state's Police Accountability law.

"Last week we buried two of our hero cops from Bristol … murdered because this law created … an anti-police climate," she said.

Mark Morgan to Newsmax: Biden Admin Lying About Border Security (Newsmax/"Wake Up America")

By Fran Beyer | Monday, 24 October 2022 09:17 AM EDT

Former Customs and Border Patrol leader and FBI veteran Mark Morgan told Newsmax on Monday the increase in migrant border crossings is far greater than the Biden administration admits, calling Vice President Kamala Harris' characterization of the influx a "lie."

In an interview on Newsmax's "Wake Up America," Morgan, who helmed the CBP in both the Obama and Trump administrations, noted the most recent figures released by the Biden administration show the total number of illegal crossings in September were 227,547 — a 12% increase from the prior month.

"They need to compare it to the last month of the Trump administration, you're gonna see a 300, 400, 500% increase difference," Morgan said.

"Our borders are wide open; they's not secure," he said, batting back Harris' assurances.

"The truth is that essential resources are pulled off line" at the border, he asserted.

"In the first 22 months [of the Biden administration], the number is actually well over 5 million," he said. "We've turned over operational control over to the cartels … the American people have been seeing this with their own eyes for the last 20 months."

"We know drugs pouring [into the country] in record numbers," Morgan said, citing the fiscal year number at "2.7 million total encounters."

"They also arrested over 40,000 criminal aliens," he said.

He added: "Although the men and woman on border protection are doing one heck of a job on the front lines," Americans are not hearing "the real numbers … of what's getting away."

According to Morgan, "somewhere between 600,000 to 700,000" migrants are "getaways."

"It's absolutely outrageous and ridiculous that this vice president calls [the border] secure," he said. "It's a lie."

Morgan also blasted the flow of the deadly drug fentanyl across the border from drug cartels.

"How many more Americans have to die before we make this administration reverse course," he asked. "Enough is enough."

"The leading cause of death [of those] between 18- to 45-years-olds in this country is fentanyl," he said, noting that "95% come from the southern border."

"For every pound of fentanyl we seize, 3-4 pounds are getting away, coming here and killing Americans," he said.

Judge Rules for California Baker Over Same-Sex Wedding Cake

Monday, 24 October 2022 08:37 AM EDT

A California judge has ruled in favor of a bakery owner who refused to make wedding cakes for a same-sex couple because it violated her Christian beliefs.

The state Department of Fair Housing and Employment had sued Tastries Bakery in Bakersfield, arguing owner Cathy Miller intentionally discriminated against the couple in violation of California's Unruh Civil Rights Act.

Miller's attorneys argued her right to free speech and free expression of religion trumped the argument that she violated the anti-discrimination law. Kern County Superior Court Judge Eric Bradshaw ruled Friday that Miller acted lawfully while upholding her beliefs about what the Bible teaches regarding marriage.

The decision was welcomed as a First Amendment victory by Miller and her pro-bono attorneys with the conservative Thomas More Society.

"I'm hoping that in our community we can grow together," Miller told the Bakersfield Californian after the ruling. "And we should understand that we shouldn't push any agenda against anyone else."

A spokesperson said the fair housing department was aware of the ruling but had not determined what to do next. The couple, Eileen and Mireya Rodriguez-Del Rio, said they expect an appeal.

"Of course we're disappointed, but not surprised," Eileen told the newspaper. "We anticipate that our appeal will have a different result."

An earlier decision in Kern County Superior Court also went Miller's way, but it was later vacated by the 5th District Court of Appeal, which sent the lawsuit back to the county.

The decision comes as a Colorado baker is challenging a ruling he violated that state's anti-discrimination law by refusing to make a cake celebrating a gender transition. That baker, Jack Phillips, separately won a partial U.S. Supreme Court victory after refusing on religious grounds to make a gay couple's wedding cake a decade ago.

Trump Blasts Jan. 6 Committee for Not Investigating Voter Fraud, Pelosi

Former President Trump strongly criticized the House January 6 Select Committee for omitting any discussion on voter fraud that had occurred during the 2020 elections, as well as deciding not to investigate House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s rejection of his offer of military protection days before the riot at the Capitol.

"Why didn’t the January 6th Committee of Unselects discuss the massive voter fraud in the 2020 Presidential Election, which is the thing that led to the tremendous protest. Also, no talk of Pelosi turning down military protection three days before January 6th. Why?" Trump posted to Truth Social on Sunday.

The Democrat-led committee issued a subpoena to Trump on Friday, demanding he testify by November 14th.

Pelosi had appeared earlier Sunday on MSNBC, where she told host Jonathan Capehart that she doesn’t think Trump is "man enough to show up."

"I don’t think his lawyers will want him to show up because he has to testify under oath. But I don’t think he’ll show up. I don’t think he is man enough. We’ll see if he is man enough to show up. And the public should make their judgment. No one is above the law! If we believe that, then they should make a judgment about how he responds to that request," Pelosi added.

Elon Musk agreed with a Twitter follower on Saturday who said his deal to buy the social media company is getting more negative attention than Amazon founder Jeff Bezos' purchase of The Washington Post in 2013 for $250 million.

"Not a single person wringing their hands about @elonmusk buying Twitter has ever had a problem with Jeff Bezos owning the @washingtonpost," author Michael Malice tweeted, to which Musk responded, "Good point," along with a pondering emoji.

According to a Bloomberg report from Thursday, a question now looms whether the United States government could block Musk's purchase of the company.

Bloomberg reports that anonymous people "familiar with the matter," said it is possible that "officials in the U.S. government and intelligence community are weighing what tools, if any, are available that would allow the federal government to review Musk's ventures."

The report implied U.S. officials are considering having the Committee on Foreign Investment review Musk's "deals and operations for national security risks."

Normally, the committee is reserved for Chinese-run firms' purchases of American companies.

While it's unclear what spurred a call for the committee, according to Matt Taibbi, "even the threat of such a move would represent a historic challenge to the First Amendment."

Business Insider reports that Musk announced plans to slash 75% of Twitter's 7,500 employees as well as reinstate former President Donald Trump back to the platform.

Dick Morris: ALERT — GOP Faces Early Voting Danger Again!

Dick Morris: ALERT — GOP Faces Early Voting Danger Again! Dick Morris: ALERT — GOP Faces Early Voting Danger Again! (Newsmax)

Dick Morris By Dick Morris Sunday, 23 October 2022 05:25 PM EDT Current | Bio | Archive

Can the 2020 nightmare repeat itself this election year?

Well, the Republican Party, in its own inimitable fashion, may be about about to blow this election — especially in some tight Senate races.

Urgent: Dick Morris’ warned of an ‘October Surprise’ and the plan to stop Trump — See More Here

Remember back in 2020 when the Democrats piled up huge leads among those who voted early, sometimes weeks before election day!

Meanwhile Republican operatives actually told GOP voters not to vote early but show up on election day.

By the time the Republicans showed up, the Democrats had already piled up leads that were insurmountable — all of this happened through early voting.

Democrats went door-to-door to sign up their voters as Republicans sat back and waited.

The GOP thinking reminds one of baseball when one team scratches out, runs through walks, singles, stolen bases and sacrifice flies — while the other team waits for the “three run homer” that just never comes.

You would have thought that the Republicans would have learned their lesson from 2020.

But now, in 2022, early data and polling is showing the same damn thing is happening.

As of today, October 23rd, 7.5 million people have already voted — 1.67 million in person and one 5.8 million by mail.

And, in states that register voters by party, 2.1 million of these early voters have been Democrats (50%) while only 1.2 million have been cast by Republicans (30%).

Polling by John McLaughlin, John Jordan, and myself shows that, in Pennsylvania, 14% of Fetterman voters have already voted as against less than 1% of Oz supporters.

In Arizona, twice as many of Democrat Mark Kelly’s voters have already voted — 10% against only 5% of Republican Blake Masters’ supporters.

The central message of my new book "The Return: Trump’s Big 2024 Comeback is that the Republican Party" has to change its political tactics to match the new rules Democrats unveiled in 2020.

They have to do the gimmicks this year and in 2024 when Trump runs.

But it really matters when a person votes.

When Democrats ask a voter to cast his ballot two weeks before the election, they can follow up if the person doesn’t come through.

But with election day voters, there is no margin for error.

If even five percent of Republican voters failed to show up on election day — think the kids got sick, things piled up, the flu, or just too many things to do —the Party risks losing Senate races that are now on razor edge in Arizona, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Nevada, North Carolina, and Ohio.

The fate of both the Senate and House depends on GOP voters actually voting.

So why are the Republicans living so dangerously?

Scarred by their 2020 experience, they worry that early votes for Republicans will be lost or misplaced.

These worries about voter issues are strong enough to get them to urge their devoted followers to stay home and only come out only on election day.

How shortsighted can you get?

Imagine depending on someone who may or may not have the time to cast their ballot on election day.

The answer to voter integrity is to provide sufficient ballot protection through volunteer poll watchers, not to let the voters stay home!

Two days after we were defeated in the election of 2020 campaign manager Jared Kushner called to boast to me: "boy we sure did a great job on election day.”

He was right.

Trump pulled out 11 million more votes in 2020 than in 2016. But, by using early voting, Biden pulled out 15 million more.

Sure we need to stop Democratic voting shenanigans, but let’s tell people not to vote early.

Report: Dem Pollsters Aim to Correct Accuracy Errors From Trump Elections

Report: Dem Pollsters Aim to Correct Accuracy Errors From Trump Elections (Newsmax)

By Jay Clemons | Sunday, 23 October 2022 02:43 PM EDT

The Wall Street Journal reports that various Democratic polling groups are exploring ways to find more accuracy with political surveys, after "understating support" for Donald Trump and other Republican candidates over the last two presidential elections.

As a starting point, the pollsters need to identify the root problem for inaccurate polling — aside from political leanings.

The No. 1 concern among pollsters and researchers, according to the Journal: It involves consistently contacting hidden Republican voters who often shy away from taking political surveys — or even publicly touting their support for Donald Trump and the
"America First," or MAGA, agenda.

In terms of accessing hard-to-reach voters, the Marist Poll has begun using text messages to invite voters to take its surveys online, Lee Miringoff, director of the Marist College Institute for Public Opinion, told the Journal.

Also, Democratic pollster Celinda Lake told the Journal she has experimented with creative ways to build trust among prospective interviewees.

For one political poll in Montana, Lake's survey asked respondents if they had seen the Bobcats-Grizzlies game — a reference to the football clash of Montana vs. Montana State.

Lake's goal: Increase participation by including "questions that cue that you're local, and not liberal," she told the Journal.

From Lake's perspective, this local-not-liberal approach produced a sample that better reflected the composition of the Montana voting pool.

Another pollster, Tom Bonier, has injected a dose of common-sense reality into his data collections.

For example, Bonier admits to being skeptical of the Ohio Senate polling showing a virtual tie between candidates JD Vance (Republican) and Rep. Tim Ryan, D-Ohio — given how Trump defeated Joe Biden by 8.1 percentage points in the 2020 presidential election, and Biden's job-approval numbers are low in the Buckeye state.

"I think everyone feels somewhat burned and gun-shy because of the polling misses of 2016 and 2020," Bonier told the Journal.

Dems Hoping for Ticket-Splitting Amid Biden Midterm Referendum

Dems Hoping for Ticket-Splitting Amid Biden Midterm Referendum (Newsmax)

By Eric Mack | Sunday, 23 October 2022 01:08 PM EDT

While the country is becoming more split, Democrats are hoping ticket-splitters can help them keep control the Senate in key battleground states, The Washington Post reported.

While D.C. Aiken wants Republicans to regain control of Congress, he is voting for Sen. Raphael Warnock, D-Ga., because he calls him "a person of credit," rejecting voting Republican for challenger Herschel Walker.

"I think you have to vote, and I have to say, I can't vote right now for Mr. Walker," Aiken told the Post.

Republicans are hoping it is Democrats who vote for Republicans, ostensibly making the midterms a referendum on President Joe Biden.

"These people, they'd like to provide a correction on Biden," Republican strategist Sarah Longwell said of focus groups showing ticket-splitters are possible in these midterms.

"And the question is whether they can find candidates that they can stomach to do that."

The University of Chicago's Daniel Moskowitz noted 11% of voters in 2016 picked the same party for president and the Senate, but that ratio was 20-30% through the 1960s-1980s, according to the Post.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., is potentially a catalyst for ticket-splitting the Republican Party. He has chosen not to back some of former President Donald Trump's endorsed candidates with his Senate Leadership Fund, even if it might impact the control of the Senate.

A Pennsylvania GOP strategist, David La Torre, in a similar vein, told the Post, Dr. Mehmet Oz "has rightly separated himself" and La Torre vows to vote for the "the more moderate," suggesting Doug Mastriano is not his pick against Democrat Josh Shapiro for governor.

American Crossroads, a GOP ad buyer calls Oz's opponent, Lt. Gov. John Fetterman "way more radical" than Shapiro.

But Fetterman is trying to pitch himself to the GOP, hosting a "Republicans for Fetterman" news conference Friday.

"Every day, we’re seeing more and more Republicans coming out of the woodwork to support John," Fetterman campaign spokesman Joe Calvello told the Post.

In Ohio, Rep. Tim Ryan, R-Ohio, is trying to usurp GOP voters who back Ohio GOP Gov. Mike DeWine by double digits over Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley, according to the Post.

"There's simply no other way that he is going to be able to win this race," Ohio Northern University's Robert Alexander.

J.D. Vance is endorsed by former President Donald Trump, along with DeWine – but the latter has not appeared with Trump at Ohio Save America rallies, keeping a distance in the bellwether state that twice voted for Trump over Democrats.

Vance is "proud to have the unified support of Republicans in Ohio, including endorsements from Gov. DeWine and Sen. [Rob] Portman," Luke Schroeder, a spokesman for the Vance campaign, told the Post.

Kari Lake Says She’ll Accept Only ‘Fair, Honest’ Election in Arizona Race

Kari Lake Says She'll Accept Only 'Fair, Honest' Election in Arizona Race (Newsmax)

By Sandy Fitzgerald | Sunday, 23 October 2022 12:59 PM EDT

Arizona GOP gubernatorial nominee Kari Lake said Sunday she'll accept the results of the election against Democrat opponent Katie Hobbs regardless of the outcome, but only if the election is held in a way that is "fair, honest, and transparent."

However, there's an issue, she said in the interview, airing Sunday on ABC's "This Week," because Hobbs, as Arizona's secretary of state, could be the one who will have to determine if the election was fair.

"Looks like my opponent might have to determine that," Lake, a former Phoenix TV news host, told ABC's Jonathan Karl. "That's an interesting conundrum, isn't it?"

Lake also on Sunday said that if she's elected, she isn't only committing to serving all four years, but said she's "going to serve eight years as governor of Arizona," even if former President Donald Trump asks her to be his running mate in the 2024 presidential race.
"I just have to laugh at this question," said Lake. "I’m hearing this a lot on the campaign trail and what I think is happening is the media is trying to scare the public that I’m going to leave. I am devoted and dedicated to saving Arizona and to turning it around."

She added that she likes to say she's the "fake news' worst nightmare" and she's "going to be their worst nightmare in Arizona for eight years. I'm going to have two terms as governor."

Meanwhile, Lake, who has often denied the results of the 2020 election of President Joe Biden over Trump, and told Karl that as governor, she'd seek to change the election laws in the state.

"We will secure our election, restore faith in our elections, make sure our elections are honest and transparent," said Lake, adding that there are problems with early voting that must be addressed.

"Our Constitution says Election Day," she said. "It doesn't say election season, election month, and the longer you drag that out, the more fraud with problems there are. We just saw problems this week with Katie Hobbs, my opponent. She just sent out 6,000 ballots that went – the wrong type of ballots to the wrong people."

And even though Hobbs has corrected the issue, which had ballots go out that only had federal races listed, Lake said that she wants to shore up elections so they are "very honest," with Karl noting that about 90% of people in her state voting either early or using early ballots.

Lake also argued in the interview about the 2020 election, commenting that 2,000 mail-in ballots were accepted by Maricopa County after Election Day in 2020. Karl, though, quoting county election officials, said that no ballots were accepted after the day's 7 p.m. deadline.

But Lake argued that she agreed to the interview to talk about her policies, not elections, as "the media thinks I'm only talking about elections. I'm talking about a lot of things."

However, the questions about the elections continued, with Karl asking her about comments last week when she said there were 740,000 ballots in the state that should not have been counted during the election, as they had no chain of custody.

"The Republicans on the Board of Supervisors, the Republican governor, now the Republican candidate for Senate running along with you, the Republican attorney general under Donald Trump, Bill Barr, all said that the election was not stolen," Karl told her.

"Are we going to sit and litigate this?" she retorted. "I'd be happy to do it…you guys are obsessed. We have a lot of corruption in this system. I think a lot of people who were responsible for that election know that there were rules broken and laws broken and they don't want to admit fault. We're going to go forward. And we're going to make sure, going forward, our elections are secure."

‘Dr. Doom’ Predicts NYC Being Hit With Nukes, Natural Disasters by 2042

'Dr. Doom' Predicts NYC Being Hit With Nukes, Natural Disasters by 2042 (Newsmax)

By Jay Clemons | Sunday, 23 October 2022 11:17 AM EDT

Dr. Nouriel Roubini, a 64-year-old New York University economics professor who also has the moniker of "Dr. Doom," thanks to some of his dire societal predictions from the past, believes "there's a scenario" in which Russian President Vladimir Putin would use nuclear weapons against Ukraine, and potentially America's largest media market, according to the New York Post.

In his discussion with the Post, Roubini warned that New York City could be a primary target on Putin's to-do list of potential attacks.

"There’s a scenario in which, in the next twelve months, Russia uses tactical nuclear weapons against Ukraine and then they attack NATO and we start a conventional war with Russia. The first nuclear weapon is gonna go to New York," said Roubini. "Being in New York City is not safe."

From Roubini's perspective, New York could also be in line for another natural disaster — perhaps even worse than Hurricane Sandy in 2012.

"In the next 20 years, most of downtown New York is gonna be underwater," predicts Roubini.

The lack of proper governance could also make New York City susceptible to future disasters, reasons Roubini.

When asked about a recent $52 billion proposal from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to construct sea barriers to protect NYC from another storm surge, Roubini rhetorically mused, "Who's gonna pay for that? They don't even know if it's gonna work. It'll take 25 years to build and even if we save Manhattan, all of the Jersey Shore and Long Island will get flooded because that water needs to go somewhere."

According to the Post, "Dr. Doom" first made a public name for himself 16 years ago, after "correctly predicting" the collapse of the housing market and a subsequent worldwide recession.

And now, as part of his new book, "MegaThreats: Ten Dangerous Trends That Imperil Our Future, And How to Survive Them," Roubini is seemingly doubling down on his grim predictions.

As such, Roubini forecasts a "long and ugly" financial crisis in the coming months. He also characterizes the climate change battle as a "slow-motion train wreck."

Dr. Doom also foresees another pandemic emergency emerging worldwide, on the scale of the COVID-19 pandemic from 2020-21.

Roubini's most notable "climate" predictions include:

  • With America's coastlines, Roubini warns, "Florida's gonna be underwater — all of it, not just Miami."
  • Regarding this country's South and West regions, Roubini predicts that "most of the South will be too hot to live. You'll have drought from Colorado to California and wildfires like crazy all over the West."
  • For the Midwest, Roubini predicts "we'll have a great migration to the Midwest, into Canada. We'll have to take over Canada. Literally."

The United States invading Canada … by military force?

"I'm not joking," says Roubini.

"The Canadians are gonna say 'no,' but they don’t have the army. They have the land and the water, but no army to defend it. Unless they unify with us, everybody’s gonna try and take over Canada. They need a well-armed U.S. to protect them, so we’ll become the United States of North America just out of necessity. I mean, there was a reason [former President Donald] Trump wanted to buy Greenland," added Roubini.

Former President Donald Trump teased another run for the White House in 2024 on Saturday night in Robstown, Texas, to an enthusiastic crowd.

"And now to make our country safe, successful and glorious again, I will probably have to do it again," Trump told his Save America rally Saturday night, which aired live on Newsmax.

Trump vowed to crack down on crime, support the police, close the borders, reduce inflation, and restore the American economy to the heights his administration had brought it to before COVID-19 blew in from China.

"We are against 'defund the police,' and we are for defunding the Mexican drug cartels, Trump said.

"We need to leave our police alone — and let them do their jobs," he added, calling for the death penalty for anyone who kills a police officer.

The Texas crowd broke out in a rendition of the National Anthem and chants of "USA!" and "We love Trump," and "Let's go Brandon!"

"When this group stood up, I said, 'We have protesters,'" Trump said. "And they are protesters; they are protesting what is happening to our country.

"It was a beautiful moment."

Trump added rebukes of investigations of him and anyone who supports him.

"They sent me a subpoena the other day," Trump said. "These crooked people. If you want to save your rights and liberties, you have to deliver a crushing rebuke to these radical maniacs."

Trump denounced the endless "investigations," saying all Congress does anymore is investigate Republicans and anyone with the last name "Trump."

"If we fly over a Democrat state, we get a grand jury subpoena," Trump said. "They have been looking at me for a long time … they found nothing.

"They found this: I, like you, love this country."

Trump blasted the "racist" New York Attorney General Letitia James, who campaigned on "get Trump."

"I hear she's losing," Trump added about James' reelection hopes. "Wouldn't that be amazing?"

Trump said the importance of the upcoming midterms would be his focus before he will make an official 2024 campaign announcement.

"This election is your chance to make your vote heard," he added.

Trump once again played a video of "Let's get ready to bumble," showing clips of a stammering and incoherent President Joe Biden.

"They respected us two years ago like never before," Trump said. "What's going on now is so sad.

"They think we're playing four-dimensional chess. They can't believe what's going on in our country."

Stumping in Robstown, Texas, weeks before the midterms, former President Donald Trump warned Democrats are against "oil, God, and guns," three staples in the state.

"They say Texas is going blue, it's not going blue: It's Trump!" Trump told his Save America rally Saturday night, which aired live on Newsmax. "The Texas way of life is under siege."

"They're against oil, God, and guns, and they say they're going to do well in Texas. I don't think so."

Trump hailed a 33-0 record in the GOP primaries in Texas and warned against further destruction of his polices under the Biden administration, namely the opening of the southern border in Texas.

"We have a bad subject, because when you look at what's happening to our country, it's a bad subject," Trump said.

"How stupid are the people that are allowing our country to be ruined."

Trump was stumping for Texas Republicans he has endorsed, including GOP Gov. Greg Abbott.

"There is only one way to end this madness, and it's madness," Trump said. "If you want our country to fail, vote Democrat."

But if you want to protect America and our way of life, vote Republican, Trump added.

"Go out and vote up and down the slate, vote for good, great Republicans," Trump told his Texas crowd. "You are incredible group of people. You're tough, you're brave, and brilliant.

"Americans deserve a Congress and president that protect the borders of our nation. It's called, a very simply policy: America First."

Trump mocked Democrats and President Joe Biden for calling to stop MAGA, which is Make America Great Again.

"How do you say that?"
